I have one locked in my inventory, but my buffs say I only have a 15% discount. I bought an item in the main shops to check if it was wrong, but they only gave me 15% off. What's up with that?

Next time you buy something, can you look at what it's charging you for the item and see if the total you're charged includes the 30%? I have a 30% discount card as well, and when I buy it doesn't specifically say anything about the discount card.

For example, I just bought Sage, selling for 459 sP in the store. The message I get is "I see you have discount card! I'll give you a discounted price of 273 sP! Sage has been added to your inventory. Your main shop discount buff gave you 15% (69 sP) off the main price!"

That end price of 273 is far less than the 390 the 15% discount would give me.

I see you have a discount card! I'll give you a discounted price of 1,321 sP! Arid Telenine Beanbag has been added to your inventory. Your main shop discount buff gave you 15% (333 sP) off the main price!

The original price was 2,220 so I think my math says they gave me ~40% off? I did this with a couple different items and did the math, and it's definitely giving me around 40% off on things?

I just did some math on the Sage I bought and realized that what it does is it takes the 15% shop buff off first, it doesn't just add the discount percentages together.

So instead of applying a 45% discount to something worth 2220, it takes 15% off first and then applies the 30% to the remainder. So 2220 becomes 1887, and 30% off of 1887 is less than 30% off 2220 would be.

So we get the correct discount, just...calculated a bit unusually.

2,220 with a 30% card is 1554. 1554 at 15% off is 1320.9(1321).

I think it takes the discount card first, then the 15%.

Okay, I understand now. I didn't know that the buff was separate from the card's discount, I thought the buff was /from/ the card, and I was getting the wrong buff. Thank you guys.

The discounts are applied the same way they would be applied in a normal store. If you were to walk into a store advertising 50% off the entire store, chose a couple items, and went to check out you'd get 50% off the marked price.

While you're standing in line, you remember you have a 50% off coupon. When you present the coupon to the cashier, they take 50% off the price after the first discount, but you're not getting the item for free.. you still have to pay something!

The item is originally 100. With the storewide sale it's now 50. With your coupon it brings the price down to 25. The storewide 50% off + 50% coupon doesn't give you 100% off, but rather 75% off total.
