I love that we have the option to match colors from items in our wardrobe, but sometimes it doesn't pull the right colors, or it doesn't pull colors at all. I think it would be awesome if we could simply type in the html color code ourselves and have it match the items that way. Let's face it, that was a huge part of the reason why everyone loved Arvee/So Fetch so much. I don't know what kind of coding or programming goes into this, but I think it would be a pretty awesome feature. If a website running solely off donations can do, it I don't see why it wouldn't be possible here.

I'd love to be able to type in hex codes as well! I keep wishing for that.

I would love this. I was sooo excited for color-matching, but I was quickly disappointed in it because... it just doesn't work that well, imho. Tired of getting brown, black, and navy from items that appear entirely purple or something.

I hate when I'm trying to find something navy or even just black I get everything. Or at least everything. Yay for the color picker noticing that everything is outlined in black. lmao

Hex codes would be lovely.

I was having the hardest problem finding white items. T-T Or just a particular shade of purple-pink that I couldn't get the color matcher to acknowledge. I ended up giving up because I was working on it for hours and finding nothing.

I really like this idea! A lot of times it's still very hard to find items that are the right shade of a color, even if I'm going through dozens of "light pink" items, etc. It's equally hard to find dark blue or purple items because they're usually mixed in together (along with every other dark-colored item). So I definitely support this!

Is there an easy way to get the hex code of a colour, though? Or do we have to like, screenshot it, put it in an image editor, find the hex code, and then run it through? Because that...seems inconvenient.

Or does everyone just know the hex codes of colours by looking? Somehow?

I mean, it's a good idea if there's a shorter way to get the code in the first place, but I can't see myself ever wanting to put item after item into GIMP to try and find matches. Probably be faster just to try on my entire wardrobe.

I don't know about everyone else, but I save the image and then use an image editor (or hex code finder online) to figure out the code. I do this already whenever I'm using the salon, so it wouldn't be a huge jump for me to start doing this to find clothes.

It's pretty easy, considering you can just use a free online color picker, or use free programs like GIMP. But just because some people wouldn't want to bother using it, doesn't mean that it shouldn't exist. You have to use Hex codes to get the right Hair Salon colors, don't see how this is any different.

I just think that if Subeta were to implement this idea they should also provide an on-site way to get the codes. I don't think it's too much to ask that you not have to screw around with different websites and external programs just to use the website. It's great if other people are willing to deal with all that hassle just to match a shirt to a skirt or whatever but I don't see how it's any faster than just trying them on in the wardrobe.

And while it's been a long time since I used the Hair Salon, last time I was there they had one of those clickable colour wheel things to select the colour, so you could just slide that around until it was the colour you wanted. Not exactly the same thing.

If they moved the colour thing over from the hair salon, it would be simply a matter of copying code, but that particular bit of coding is outdated compared to what they want to new wardrobe to look like, I think. There are newer versions of that though, and I do agree that would be a good thing to implement as well.

I think, and I'm not sure, that the colors are picked on the item art and not the overlay art. Not sure where I got that idea from though. If you need a color picker, I use ColorZilla which is a Firefox addon. Downloaded back when the hair salon was first added and have had it since.

The color matching can be a pain the way it is now though. I would love the ability to use the hex codes if it's possible. I'd also like to pick base skin tones using hex codes. The colors we have now aren't great, but it's just wishful thinking.

Sometimes I swear it gives me the color of the item art and not of the item itself. And I was having problems a couple weeks ago looking for a purple/blue shade because it simply did not show up on the color picker, even though it was the item's color. It kept giving me grey. I wonder if that's because it didn't have a color, so it used the item art? I dunno. I like being able to look by color but I wish it worked better.

Could this be a thing?

I would definitely appreciate such an option. I use the colour-matching option a lot and it frustrates me because it isn't incredibly precise. As a human, I could do so much better, if only I could input the code myself!

I'd love to be able to use hexcodes. The current color matching really does not work so well at times, this would be great.

I think you're correct! It'd be nice if the artists submitted the hexcodes as they're working on the items since they've got access to the color palette they used, but that wouldn't work as well for older releases... I'm mostly talking about SB and cash shop clothes that usually take forever or never for the colors to get recognized, though.

Well, I'm not too sure if they are or aren't picked that way. Or if it just depends on who is doing the work.

I think any kind of improvement to it would be appreciated. I have 110 pages in my "all" layer. If I search it knocks it down to 95 pages. Using the palette search for black pretty much brings up most of the wardrobe since most of the palettes have black in them. The search is made even more frustrating if the item I'm looking for doesn't have black in the item name, but coal or soot or some other misleading name.

It might also be nice to save favorite colors. Like with the hair salon.
