How often does this occur?! :( This really sucks.. :c

This is an RE so it happens based on how much you play. I play a lot and for me it's been about once every two months lately. The rate of this changes over time though, because in the past I've gone a whole year without being taxed. My guess is that TPTB are mildly concerned about inflation right now, so it's more often than it has been.

You don't get taxed on your Vault, only on what you're keeping in your pocket. Unless you're buying something big, you can squirrel it away where it's safe.

I always dump the majority of my sP into my vault because of this very reason. I never keep more then 150K on me and the only time I have more on hand is when I'm questing or on my way to spend a big chunk on something.

In fact I've only been hit big once and it was for about the same amount as you, 749K whilst questing recently. It should be said that in the 10 years I've been here, 6 years of extreme activeness, I've only lost 1.95mil to Sebastian Phoenix in total.

Yeah it does suck :( It doesn't happen too often fortunately. In my experience you can miss him for months, then get him 2-3 times in 1 week...Just try not to keep too much sP on hand with you at one time for him to steal.

I got taxed twice yesterday in a few hours time. Before it has been months since i saw him.

Usually when he shows up for me he will reappear two or three more times within a day or so. :/
