I like the new t.v. show. I also love all the movies Manhunter, Silence Of The Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon and Hannibal Rising. I like Brian Cox, Anthony Hopkins, Gaspard Ulliel and Mads Mikkelsen. Now I think kids should wait until they are 18 to watch the R rated movies or better yet see an edited version on TV. Sorry the Mama in me comes out. I also have read all the books. Hannibal ends significantly different than the movie Hannibal. Manhunter did not end like the book Red Dragon nor did the movie. I love all the people who have played co stars in these movies and the television show. I was just wondering if there are any Fannibals here. :)
I've read all the books and watched all the films. The television show is absolutely incredible. I was hesitant to watch it at first because of how music I loved Anthony Hopkins. I love Mads Mikkelsen, though. He does an incredible job at portraying exactly what Anthony Hopkins did.
I'm a pretty big fan myself. I read the books a few times and saw the films countless and I adore them immensely, but the TV show I just recently got into and am amazed by. Mads is INCREDIBLE in everything. Enough said.

have you all seen Manhunter? I think it is great too in it's own way. I consider Brian Cox, Anthony Hopkins, Gaspard Ulliel and Mads Mikkelsen. You cannot compare Mads and Anthony like many people do. It is like apples and oranges in my opinion.
June 4th the TV show comes back. YAY!
I'm so excited for the show to come back. I've always loved Thomas Harris' books and Anthony Hopkins' portrayal, but the show elevates it all to such a beautiful art form.
Agreed, they would not be able to get away with the violence had they not been able to show it in a more artistic fashion. Not that I believe in violence in real life, but it is okay in fiction.
I am a Fannibal =D
Because of the show I've read all the books and saw most of the movies (have yet to see the movie adaptations of Hannibal Rising and Hannibal).
, have you seen Manhunter? I am assuming you have seen Silence Of The Lambs and Red Dragon. Once you have seen the all the movies and read the books, The things from the TV will pop out to you. Now as a mom. I have to say I would not let my kids watch the movies because of their violence and language until 18, but the show is TV-14. Some people let their kids. One can take a teen to the theater to see R movies with an adult present. Of course my son watched stuff without my permission in his life time. We try to be careful what we let the grandchildren see. I recommend you seeing all the movies and reading all the books if you are old enough and have parental permission. Hannibal the movie ends very differently than the novel. I much prefer the ending in the novel. Except for one thing I wish Hannibal did not let Clarice do. Anyway I could go on and on about Hannibal. Have you all looked at my Hannibal pet's profiles. I would love you all too, :D
Yeah, I saw Manhunter. A friend called me up about it being on a channel so I watched itXD
It was a bad adaptation but they did some things good in it.
Since I could tell fiction from reality Mom didn't mind what I read or watched. Now Dad, on the other hand, was more cautious. They were divorced since I was 3 or 4. And when Dad and I were in California one year I had to leave the house until a big battle scene in The Patriot was over.
I like Manhunter. I kind of like it better than Red Dragon, but I love both. You have to remember Brian Cox was the first to play Hannibal Lecter so he had to give it his touch and Hannibal is kind of just a supporting character in Manhunter. The star is Will. Will is tortured in that movie more like Hugh Dancy's version on the TV show. Of course Hugh has had way more time to let us know Will than we got to with William Peterson's Will. I also loved Edward Norton's Will, but in the book Will loses Molly and his stepson and ends up a scarred drunk after Dolarhyde gets through with him. Now as much as I love Hopkins version of Hannibal and trust me I do. Him being older in Red Dragon than he was in Silence of The Lambs bothered me a little. :/ I am the kind of person if I love a character I love it in every version. Save the musical. I heard one of the songs in the musical and it was just graphically vulgar and I know this is for adults, but I think some people just go to far. I cannot help it. I am old fashioned like that. Being a Fannibal is my guilty pleasure. I also enjoy crime shows about real things. Even though I hate the violence. I wonder how the human mind works. I am so thankful to be blessed with a conscience. I cannot fathom those who don't.
Yeah, I consider the question "Who was the first person to play Hannibal Lecter?" to be a trick question as many don't know about Brian Cox.
We've had two seasons to get to know Will on the show and the actors had to endure us to the character in one movie.
Will did have a sad ending in the books :(
And they needed Hopkins so...yeah...
There's a Hannibal musical?
I don't mind violence in fiction as long as there's a point. Hannibal is a deeply interesting character.
, I am with you. Fiction is a must. Now if Hannibal were real I would not want any association with him. Other than maybe viewing a documentary about him. I sure would not make a pet based on a real cannibal. Especially since I made Clarice his love interest which happens in the book Hannibal, but does not happen on the movie Hannibal. I leave Will and Alana as an option even though they are bringing in a Molly this season. I wrote Will's story after Molly left and Alana sort of open for a relationship, but unsure. I do not think Alan Bloom is seen on Red Dragon, but he is on Manhunter using the name Dr. Sidney Bloom. He is concerned for Will and had him treated for the trauma he had over killing Garrett Jacob Hobbs. I decided to use the character as the girl that Bryan Fuller turned her into who cares about Will, but is scared of being hurt, due to Will's alcoholism and his well I guess you could call it PTSD. I added a few things to her treasure because of what she has went through in season 2, but do not write her and Hannibal as having an affair since I have my Hannibal with Clarice. Also the storylines are really mixed in my pet profiles as I think Hannibal, Clarice, and Will are at the end of things and because Alana or Dr.Bloom is such a minor character and just in Red Dragon as far as the book is concerned so I just added some characteristics to her story and info about Dr. Alan Bloom and Dr. Sidney Bloom. So sorry the Fannibal in me gets so excited to find someone to talk to that likes Hannibal. I write a book instead of a post. So sorry so long.
It's okayXD
Alana and Will are a cute couple. Will be interesting to see what happens to her in Season 3. As she didn't know/think Hannibal was guilty before and now she knows. If she survives. I think she's alive as Bryan talked about how he wants to use her this season?
Yeah, with what Will has I think it would be PTSD.
I like hearing fans be happy :)
I love Hannibal, but I'm a much bigger Animorphs fan and can talk for hours about thatXD
So no need to be ashamedXD
Bryan Fuller tweeted to me. I just about fainted. Everyone was going on about Mads' cheekbones and I tweeted his wife has beautiful cheekbones too and he tweeted back,
Bryan Fuller · 31 Jan 2014
" She is as stunning and wonderful as he is." I know it is no big deal, but I liked it.
If Bryan Fuller just said hi to me I'd be like: O.O' I'm noticed O.O'
Don't worry, you're not the only one who fangirls about those things :)
I did feel noticed. I don't get out much, . Plus it was a honor.
I just get tired of everyone saying how handsome Mads is without mentioning her after all he is her husband. As far as I can tell no matter the roles he plays husband and father come first.
I always have a lot of respect for celebrities that stay married because it seems like some divorce if the wind changes.
I "internet-met" Bryan Fuller once -- somebody was streaming the Season 1 episodes a couple days before Season 2 started and we got him to stop by over Twitter. He was really nice! He was joking around with us and telling us how emotional we were going to get over the second season and stuff; it was cool that he came by and was so friendly to a chatroom full of fans.
I don't tend to look at a celebrity's personal life as they deserve privacy. So I wasn't aware of his wife.
But glad that they are together :)
'nice' convos where an author, director, ect. gloats about how much pain you'll be inXD
lol. Half the fun of being a fan is getting emotionally traumatized by your favourite show!
, I look at them as private too. Did I seem not too? :/ On some of the groups and places I have seen people just do not seem to appreciate that Mads is indeed a married man and I guess women and even some men fawning over him is part of fame, but I noticed him talking a lot about his family in interviews so I Googled him and I saw he had a wife with beautiful high cheekbones like him and they had met as dancers. Then I just saw pictures of the whole family. They have a daughter and a son. Save God above family means the most to me in all the world and I admired how he spoke of his family. I was not trying to be nosy about his personal life. I do not like people who exploit celebrities in tabloids and things like that. Waves at .
