Background as to why I am asking: Currently a junior in my undergrad for psychology seeking to do my PhD either at Colorado or Wyoming and skip the whole master's thing. Only thing is I have never been to either state but I hear it is cheap versus here (New York) where I can't do anything because of how expensive it is. I am 20 and not 21 (turn 21 in october) and I won't have my bachelor's degree yet which kills like half the summer jobs.

I need as much advice as possible. Like I am seriously considering trying to find a summer job there so I can explore the state but I would have to either make enough to afford living there (Are there any seasonal jobs that pay enough to rent a bedroom or something) or get a job that offers boarding (Hotels/Ranches/Camps) which I know there is out there. Do you know of any jobs like that, or have done something like that? I also just need advice really about the schools (Wyoming State or UC Boulder) and just living. I basically am trying to move out of a heavily expensive urban community to something more rural and outdoorsy. How is the job situation? Is renting something easily and reasonable to do? Ideally for me I would love a job where I can work with special need kids as that what I have most experience in. I also need something that starts in June and ends mid August so I can make it back to New York for school. Anything psychology related would be great. Trust me in the sense that I have done research and found job postings and such, but what is portrayed on the screen is nothing like how it really is. Please tag anyone you know who lives in either state to offer advice because I could really use it. I know I am using subeta to try and find people who could help me out like craigslist or something but it is for advice not job offers or room on board. Even any past experience where someone did summer work in a different state or country to get to know a place.

- I know you are just moving there but you probably know like hotels or ranches or camps or golf clubs .etc that may offer temporary jobs. Or just know people already? No idea but couldn't stop myself from asking.

The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs offers employee housing but I know they just had a job fair as well as bringing in the next wave on interns for the summer positions since that's their busy season. Still you can certainly apply!!

It seems so beautiful. I have decided to spend my summer here and both work/learn coding. I am hoping that we visit by winter break. We have to start applying around then and hopefully we get in. Adrian might move before me plus I need to make connections now for work.
