Children who live in rural Mexico have often been chided with the threat, "Come inside or La Llorona will get you!" Some arrogant young ones simply roll their eyes and obey for the sake of keeping peace in the house, but others catch their breath and hurry to the safety of the indoors, for fear the legendary Weeping Woman will come and snatch them away.
They all know the story. La Llorona was once a mortal woman, with two young children of her own. But when the man she loved spurned her affections because of them, she drowned her brood in a love-fueled rage. However, instead of winning the man of her dreams, the woman's actions horrified him and drove him away forever. The village heard of her murders and burned her at the stake as a witch, condemning her soul to weep for eternity. Now, the Weeping Woman stalks along the edge of the water, searching for the children she offered up to win the love of her life. So children best beware, or La Llorona may seek to replace her losses by stealing unwary little ones away from parents who didn't take care to warn them. No one knows what might happen to the desperate parent who seeks to regain their children from the grip of La Llorona.
So, welcome to the sleepy town of Bachichas, on the bank of el Rio Cansado, the tired river, where many of the village residents earn their living on small fishing boats, and the children play carelessly on its banks. That is, until sunset, when they all scurry inside. But lately, some have not scurried fast enough, it seems. Are they just lost? Did they fall in and drown? Perhaps a large fish took them under. Or what if...?
So basically our premise here is two or three children have disappeared without a trace, much to their parents' dismay, of course. As a citizen of Bachichas, and potentially a parent of one of the missing children, what course of action are you going to take in the face of this mystery?
NOTES:
1. I will be playing La Llorona, as well as the environment. I do want this to be a mystery, so she may not just show up right away for a battle royale. The kids could very well have just gotten lost.
2. There are only three kids missing, max. The village isn't that big, and more than that would be ridiculously conspicuous.
3. Not everybody has to be a parent. Maybe the school teacher is concerned about them. A worried cousin or something. There will be more interesting interactions if it isn't a whole bunch of married people looking for their kids.
4. Be at least somewhat literate. Thanks.

I'll probably have a character or two besides La Llorona, but I'll wait to see what other kinds of characters we have before I post mine.
@SpookyKitten @Vintage888 Here's the new thread!
Name: Agatha Torret Age: 27 Gender: Female
Appearance: Short and stocky though well muscled from climbing and hauling gear. Her hair is a wild mess of tangles hastily tied back to keep it out of her way. It's a variety of strange colors from being dyed and dyed again a different color in different ways. She wears well worn clothes with many mended holes and tears made of durable and strong fabrics and thick shoes to prevent insects like scorpions and spiders from finding her feet as lunch.
Personality: Curious and bold, she loves stories and learning new things that comes with her traveling life. Though she does like her luxuries like warm baths and good food, as long as she can sleep on a cot or in the back of a truck she's perfectly content to wander.
Relationship to missing kids: None, She's a wandering author/cryptozoologist. She came to investigate the sudden influx of missing children, following a pattern her mentor had documented spanning hundreds of years.
(Yay! This is gonna be so much fun!)
((Mk, I'm gonna go ahead and post a character.))
Name: Diego Santo Age: 35 Gender: Male
Appearance: Diego stands head and shoulders over the rest of the village at 6'5". His shiny black hair is swept backward from years of running his hand through it from front to back. Although there is no trace of it in his hair, his mustache is beginning to show evidence of gray. His frame is thin, but not skinny, with toned muscles from years of hard work. Underneath thick black eyebrows, dark coffee-colored eyes glint with a fiery spirit.
Personality: Diego is one of the patriarchs of the village, and has the qualities of a natural leader: a strong voice, a gentle touch, and a quick mind. He has a gift for strategy and planning, as well as a fierce loyal streak for his village and his family. He isn't very educated; he left school after fifth grade to take a job as a handyman and carpenter. Having lived in the same tiny village all his life, he has a tendency to be superstitious and firmly believes in the legend of La Llorona.
Relationship to the missing kids: His daughter Lisa is one of the ones missing, and he'll stop at nothing to get her back.
