I recently got Manga Studio EX 5 as an upgrade to Paint Tool Sai and I’m finding myself with one of those beginner problems, mainly that I can’t seem to get the brushes to ‘feel right’.

For the lack of a better word, the pencil brushes are jumpy. They’re ‘bucking’ back a lot compared to the smoothness I’m used to with Sai.

It’s as if the frame rate is messed up, though I can’t imagine why. My graphics were able to handle any load with Paint Tool Sai.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would gladly take them. :)

You probably already have, but make sure that stabilization is up. Each brush has it's own slider instead of an overall one like Sai.

Changing the memory allocation and undo count also really help with MS5. These settings are under preferences then performance.
