So I chose the random virus, however, it appears that it gave me a strand that I already had (heartburn). I want to get another virus but when I go to the beta wardrobe and chose to have no skin, save and ... nothing. I still have the skin and I cannot get reinfected.

It's 200 candy hearts in the L'amour Parlor (not sure how many you have to spare, but it's another option). You can't take it off because it's an infection in progress. It's kind of stupid, but if you pick random then it's just up to who bites you first :c
