The new Offers wall is not something new to me, they had one on other sites I used to frequent.

The problem is, these offers CAN be dangerous, and the disclaimer, only protects Subeta from getting sued. This leaves users who are less than savvy, open to getting in big trouble.

Another issue is that many people are not even getting their promised rewards.

So then start a forum about it?

Id say put it in General Discussion. Have people give feedback on which offers worked, and which didnt, and update the OP with the relevant information.

I honestly wanted feedback first about it, if others thought this was important, and stuff like that.

I have always thought of the "suggestions and Ideas" forums for things that we wanted mods/admin to change, not things that just the user base can do. We don't need feedback for it, we can just do it. If people want it, it would take off, if not, then it wont.

Personally I think its a good idea, but if you do decide to make one, its going to be a lot of work to keep it updated and relevant.

I think Subeta is kind of in a shitty posistion either way, take down offers and tons of people complain, leave them up with fair warning abd people still complain.

I think a group review thing would be helpful! Personally I did the Snackies Offer for 180 CSC and had little to no trouble. I skipped all of the offers and used a junk e-mail.

Especially because I don't plan on doing the offers. xD

I did want the admins/Mods to possibly be the ones to look into it. I mean it will make Subeta look bad if a bunch of users get scammed. Disclaimer or not, all they get out of it is payments for us giving them our home addresses and emails for spam.

They wont. That's the thing. They arent going to personally put up a review of each and every survey.

I remember this sort of thing from my Gaia days. :/ It was bad then, and it's still bad now.

Making a thread guide about it is a good idea, but... idk I feel like it shouldn't be our responsibility to make sure something staff presents to us is safe or not. I appreciate the attempts to get CSC to people who can't buy it, but there has to be something better than this.

Actually some of the "offers" are really easy to play them. I create a throw away gmail account to use and give them a fake address. Heck, I used to years ago use the address and phone number of the local walmart. Let me add, I don't do this anymore. lol

I would hope that most would have the common sense that if it sounds too good then it's a scam. More so for the ones that ask for personal info.

I guess since I've messed with these before I kind of have a feel for ones to try and the ones to avoid.

My antivirus didn't like half of the sites, and surveys in general are pretty shady for the most part. I value my machine over some csc, haha.

I agree with both the idea that we can make a forum, and the sentiment that it shouldn't be our responsibility. Subeta is offering us currency to do these things, but won't check if they're safe for the userbase? Kinda not nice. I mean I love the wall and I've already used it plenty, I just use an email I had in middle school XD

This feature seems like so much more trouble than it's worth. Vetting the ads takes time and apparently the ads don't even pay Subeta well.

I have to agree, if they're dangerous and Subeta won't vet them.

I think the problem of the offers is, on the whole, much worse. Just by clicking on half of these offers, you expose your computer (and by proxy, all your information) to viruses and malware. It doesn't even matter if you use fake information and "vet" the offers based on their ease of use, etc...

I am disappointed to see these ads come back. While Subeta has an age restriction of 13+, we all know that teens are just as susceptible to clicking on the magical ads that promise the free "money." I don't honestly care how much money is being brought in from the offers- it's manipulative and exposing the user base to harmful parts of the web.

... It honestly just reminds me of the shit Neo used to pull...

Subeta might be covering their ass but who's going to be covering the users' going on the whole premise that a bunch of kids are going to be using this site in the years to come (if it isn't run into the ground before then)?

If parents have taught their children right, they'll avoid sites that they don't know but let's face it - even adults goof on this routinely.

That's where things like vetting the offers comes into play or at least a better warning. It's very simple or you get lovely little things like ransomware or better creep in and go "Hi!"

Therein, my vote on this until Subeta's ready to help protect their userbase, instead of just their asses, will ALWAYS be a firm no. This really IS a case of "think of the kids," it's also a think of the parents.

The pages have this at the top of them though, "Keep it real! Entering false information or cancelling any signups or purchases will cause a rejection. Your 157 Credits will not be paid, and your account may be banned!". Not sure if this is Subeta official, but I know I don't want to bother with them anymore. xD

Well and the one I did bother with didn't work! LOL Ah well. :)

Since it's all third party, Subeta can't do anything about what's in there.

I personally think the whole offers thing is rather stupid.

The cute little youtube videos were one thing, but I'm not going to put my computer at risk to "test" anything to see if I can complete an offer. All of the offers seem fishy from what I've read in the news comments. Why should we have to be the guinea pigs for this? If my computer gets infected I'm sure no-one is going to pay to get it fixed, but me.

Why do these offers need to know things like: phone number, date of birth, address, bank account number, and social security number. Those last two are majorly crossing the line.

Things like this make me feel uneasy and I'm not putting myself, my computer, or my account at risk for a few CSC. I'll just keep buying from other users, safer that way.
