ugh yesterday I bumped into someone, they smelled of smoke and just ugh.... It wasnt something I was ready for..
I hear you on hating the smell of cigarettes, but lmao there's no need to write like you're having vietnam flashbacks because you lightly brushed against a smoker once.
There's also no reason to word it like that either. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke something awful, as in I feel like I can't breathe (and sometimes, leads to wheezing), so I can sympathize with the "Ewwww, cig smoke."

Me too. I can't breathe and I struggle to get some air in my lungs. It also leaves a weird aftertaste in your mouth ..
I really hate bumping into people in general tbh.
I got into a house once that was nearly blue with smoke. I felt like I couldn't get my breath and I was wheezing for an hour after leaving. x___x;

no it was an old friend/crush it was just i didn't want to see them. He didnt catch my vibes to leave me alone now he has my number just ehh...
So relateable! I'm not allergic- at least I'm not? I react really badly when I smell smoke/drugs and fragrances. My eyes burn or tear up, I gag violently and cough. Why do I need to be breathing uncomfortable and suffer because of people's drug or bad hygiene habits? /dead/
Looking to Buy:
I know this reaction, but not from smoke - in my case it more often comes from seeing / looking at things. :)
I'm not a smoker myself and I have asthma but in my job I am surrounded by so many smokers and people that smell funny that my body stopped caring. shrugs
I was at a coffee shop once and stood right behind a line of guys who smelled like...the other kind of "smoke", you know. That actually made me gag, but I'm a smoker myself (shame on me, yeah yeah) so it doesn't really affect me when I smell smokers.
If you didn't want him to have your number, how does he have it? You're not obligated to give that freely out to people.

I work at an assisted living place and this one resident has to keep her cigarettes and lighter at the front desk (my desk) because she's not 'safe' to keep them in her room. So every time she comes down to go outside and smoke, I have to hand them to her. I brought up at our last meeting that the nicotine (or maybe the tobacco) is making me ill - I'm super allergic to it. So now we're keeping it in a ziploc bag and I had that to her, but it only helps a tiny bit because now the cupboard I keep it in still smells like crap because the bag smells. I hate it.
I remember back in 8th grade, I was touring a museum in D.C. when the distinct smell of someone who probably hasn't bathed in at least a month wafted through the room. I mean I understand if someone has reasons -religious or otherwise- for not using soap, but this definitely wasn't one of those cases. This was straight up body odor stink.
