I bought the gold account. I blew 2k csc on a new pet slot. The last time I checked, the name I wanted wasn't taken... that was months ago and I should have checked again before I bought the slot. And of course, the name is taken. I thought it was a unique enough name that it'd stay available... apparently not.

I'm not sure what to do now. Do I try and find a workaround (I know we can have periods and stuff in names, but it would really bother me)... there's no real alternatives to his name either, at least that aren't taken... or do I create one of the other characters I have waiting in the wings? I really had my heart set on this specific pet... I should have created him forever ago and now I'm kicking myself for it.

Also I have a stupid cut on my finger and typing with a bandaid on is really difficult. :/

I'm sorry to hear about the pet name. On a good note, at least you still have your GA so you can start to make back some of the money you spent. Another positive is to wait until you get your loyalty box and get the loyalty petname totem so you could always change your pet's name then. Just make sure you check and see if the name's available first!

Thanks. I've never lost a name, so it was... well, a tiny shock, I guess. I just felt so stupid for not checking first. I always check first, but I thought I'd be okay. My names are either "common" enough to be already taken, or unique enough that I didn't have to worry.

Thanks. I'm really impatient, my loyalty box doesn't come until December, and I'll probably use it to get another slot. Changing a petname is cheaper than another slot! Maybe by then I'll have thought of an alternative name. The problem is it has to match his best friend, who is already a pet. I suppose I could just make the one pet, then change his friend's to match...

Ah i had the same happening to me. I was after a name but i needed to wait a week to get money for a slot. The day before I got my money someone took the name.

Aw man, that sucks, I'm sorry! I've calmed down a bit now, and I'm just going to put his surname in and change my other pet's name to match (eventually). It will probably kind of drive me nuts having the surnames there, but it's better than not having the pet at all, you know?
