This isn't about me asking for advice, but a place to post advice about how to build or maintain motivation.

Personally my view on motivation is:

"My motivation isn't a dream or desire to achieve a high status or success, but to do something that'd make me proud at the end of the day."

  • Me

How about you guys?

I heard this idea from someone else, though I can't remember who. So far it's been working. I always use my future self as a role model or something to move toward. As I improve, other people are going to be improving around me but their goals are different than mine- I'm not them. It's possible I will surpass them and then where would my motivation be? Trying to move toward my future self is my own goal and I can never fully reach that goal- yet by striving to be better I am reaching that goal. I always aim for my future self because I know the me I want to be in the future and I know that I'll keep improving as the future progresses. Okay, I feel like I've explained that very poorly and made it sound like a paradox . . . Also not sure if that was the motivation you were looking for.
