So, our anniversary is a couple weeks away on Feb. 14. Don't ask me how many years cause I honestly don't know. In the past, I am sure you remember, we have had a big big giveaway. Though I am pretty sure we did not do anything last year and maybe not the year before either. And we don't HAVE to do anything this year. Probably I am the only one that even ever remembers it :p

But, if we were to do something, what could we do other than hold another giveaway? I mean, we COULD do a giveaway. It is a ton of work though and I am just not up for it right now. Might feel different about it when the time comes but IDK. Unless someone else wants to take charge of it? But, what else could we do?

1. Host a forum party. With door prizes - every once in a while a staff member types "next poster gets _______item." Sure its still a giveaway, but much easier to keep track of. No random number generator, no counting, etc.

2. Costume party, with or without a theme - maybe using the new sharing feature rather than dressing our HAs.

3. scavenger hunt - kind of a trivia event where people have to run subetalodge searches to find specific items. Ex: list 3 items from the Professor New Magnetized Subeautique line Ex: What items did Melody hand out December 6, 2010 Ex: you'll actually have a fruit bearing plant in how many more years?

4. Not really a fan of this one...but a "get to know the staff" event where each staff member writes up something about themselves, what exactly it is they do, etc. Can be free form type of thing, or a "questionnaire" format ex: My fav Subeta activities are: My job at SubetaLodge involves: Also, in addition to write-ups, people can ask questions.

5. Same idea as , but make it a colour party - people must dress all in green to join the party.

6. Combine different ideas. For example, have some kind of forum party and have a scavenger hunt during the event. A new question posted every 15 minutes or something, letting people post how they found the answers if they want, make it really loose and easy. Just something to keep them coming back to the forum.

That's all that comes to mind immediately and if anything sound interesting it would need to be fleshed out a lot more.

From memory you did do a giveaway last year and I missed out on donating, so wasn't on the list of those that donated.. Felt horrible.. and the year before I think maybe you did a Luminaire one instead..

I really like ideas 3, would also introduce members to other areas of SBL they might not have ventured before etc.. and 2 I guess would also be popular.. But could lead to hurt feelings or claims of favoritism if we are to judge..

If 3 would the winner be first to complete or would we draw winners from all those that submit 100% correct entries.. Going on first in with all correct can be frustrating for those in an odd timezone..

Do not like 4 at all myself.. I struggle to put together a sentence about myself let alone answer a group of questions.. but if that option is chosen I'd make a valiant effort..
