... and they correct them by saying they are actually -insert 20+ age- as if it proves a point.
I always thought this was the funniest comeback because in my opinion, it makes that person look so much worse. The one who did the insulting should probably retort with, "so you behave like a child even though you're 20+?"
If you're ACTUALLY a kid, isn't that better? It makes your actions- whatever they were- completely forgiveable. Anyway, it may be that someone who replies that way isn't actually 20+. I don't even know.
There are other popular-yet-fail arguments out there that are similar, but I can't think of them right now. They're kind of a guilty pleasure for me. Too funny.
I think I've only heard kids say their age when they get called immature, as if their age is what makes them mature. At least back in my school days.
- well I only see this comeback on the internet, so they're probably kids. But I didn't understand it even when I was a kid.
Gotta love the 12.9 year old joke, personally. Maybe cause of the misconception that becoming 13 automatically makes you mature and worthy of respect now that you're technically a teenager. I gotta wonder where that idea comes from though, cause I'm sure that I've never heard people speak any better of anyone as soon as they're 13- maybe because more mature sites have a minimum age requirement of 13?
I mean yeah, that's the other end of the spectrum, but somehow being called a 12.9 year old regardless of what age you actually are seems like a big insult for some reason. I've never seen the point of arguing, "I'm not immature I'm [age here]!" beyond thinking people will automatically expect that however you're acting is perfectly normal and okay for your age.
