It'd be great to have a "Goto last post" button next to topic titles. Or perhaps links to certain page numbers of the topic (e.g. the first couple and last couple). The "Goto most recent unread post" button is useful on the topics where you're participating in a conversation, but in more fast paced topics (like 'post what you got from X' or 'give a Y to the person above') it'd be really useful to go to the last post, or at least have some control over the page you turn up on.

In regards to your examples, aren't you required to post anyway and when posting, you are taken to your post which is on the current page of the topic?

That is true but I guess I was thinking mostly of the 'give a Y to the person above' because in that you need to see the last post. And the same for the types of HA threads like 'rate the avatar above you'. And to be honest in any thread I'd prefer seeing what the last person posted before I post myself just in case I'd missed some important piece of information.

If a topic has one page, just scroll down. If a topic has 5 pages click on 5 and scroll down. If a topic has 800 pages click on the "last" button and scroll down.

I have to agree with Memoria about your examples. If you're just posting what you got from X, you can just scroll down on the first page and write it in the text box and post. I don't see why you'd have to go to the last page to do this when it already brings you to the last page after you post.

Same thing with giving something to the user above. If you just scroll down on the first page and write "claim" it will take you to the last page and you'll see your post and the person above you.

In those threads you usually need to claim though. Maybe not for avatar rating, but in most gifting threads you need to claim so you'd see the poster above you then anyway.

Tbh I don't think it's that much of a hassle to just open the thread, then hit last page. I wouldn't want to clutter the forums with more symbols, but that's just me. I probably wouldn't use it if it were implemented.

That would be fine but the pages take a long time to load even though the computer I use is pretty fast. So I have to wait ages for the first page to load and then go and wait for the last page to load. It just ends up feeling like such a roundabout way of getting to where I want to be.

Yeah you do need to claim but I usually look at what I'd be required to give (or whatever it is for that thread) in case I accidently claim something I can't fulfill.

But I can live with it staying the same, especially if most people like it like this. I'd just figured it might be a good addition to the forums.

Yes to this. It's like a default option in a forum. It's annoying to click on the the topic then on the last page and then to scroll down to read the last post. So yeah I would like to have the option to click once and to go to the last post immediately.

I agree. I would love to see a "go to last post " button of some sort. Not much else lags on my computer except the forums. :)
