First time I have ever received one and Subetalodge is also unsure of usable, so I am curious if it is, or if it is like the Silver Coin which no longer has a use.
take it to the coin machine in the city, you'll get a random thing happen
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
I've gone there with it twice since I received it, nothing has happened and no options to use it.
Maybe I should clarify, it is not a red, silver, etc special coin, just a Special Coin which is a pastel rainbow colour.
I don't think the coins like that have uses anymore -- I've got just the plain "Coin" and I haven't figured out how it works either.
That was my assumption... I guess I'll just stick it in my shop and hope it sells. My "Silver Coin" has been in there for months, however, so not a lot of hope for it.
Strange... maybe make a suggestion thread seeing what can be done with them? like maybe incorporating them for use in the coin machine?

there are a few coins that have no purpose anymore. It's kinda weird.
It's kind of annoying...
I needed one for Naniro's treasure anyway so I went ahead and bought one... doesn't look like it has a use at all. Definitely can't be used at the Coin Machine, and it doesn't have a "use" option in the item menu. I dunno if it had a use once upon a time? but if it did, it seems to have ceased.
edit: Ah, I didn't realize there was another item called Silver Coin that is no longer usable. So if you saw what I said about the Silver Special Coin, ignore it. ^^;
I didn't know this existed. I like the old art, so I bought one. Maybe I will buy up some more. I hope they get a use in the future!
Perhaps a suggestion thread should be made to add these to the Coin Machine... it's weird that they have no use.
They used to have a pretty high chance to give a random stat at the coin machine before the newer special coins took over. Now they are pretty much a shiny collectable for hoarders or numismatists (coin collectors). Would be nice to have their intended use back.
