I just got mine for Christmas, but I only started using it yesterday. It's the bright pink FitBit flex. I have to say, I was kind of iffy on the idea at first, but my mom got it for me because she knows I'm trying to lose weight and she knows I love techie things. So I set it up yesterday and I've been wearing it ever since. Tracked my sleep last night and I was really surprised that I woke up 10 times and it only took me 18 minutes to fall asleep. I thought it would have been longer than that. But waking up 10 times...what makes me wake up so much? I don't remember waking up. Maybe I didn't actually wake up though...maybe I was just moving around a lot. Anyways, I think this is a really great thing, because it's actually forcing me to exercise. Having it on my wrist, it kind of feels like...you know like some people used to tie a string on their finger to remember to do something? It's like that. It's like it's staring at me going "Why are you just sitting there? Get up off your fat ass and do something!" So I've actually been going to the gym and taking further parking spaces and other things that involve walking, just so I meet my goal. But I haven't actually hit 10k steps yet. I had no idea how many steps and how much time that took! Yesterday I got 6k and I was happy with that. Today I only got just over 5k though and I feel lazy. I want to lose about 50 lbs. so I'm hoping this keeps helping!

I just ordered mine. It should come in a couple of days. I'm super excited!

Have you used the alarm function on it? Does it work well?

Thank you!

Another useless tech thing to convice people to move more. It's not like a wireless wristband will help you doing anything more than what you do already. You can get a step counter with a clock for less than 40$.

If it helps people, good. But I don't need a 100$ plastic thing to monitor my life. [Edit] Okay I'm going to read reviews about it before being super judgy.

When I'm at work I can't stop to get up and walk around or anything, I have to stay focused and attentive to my work. Cool as the fitbit sounds it wouldn't work for me.

I was thinking about getting one, as I'm trying to lose weight as well. Some of my friends have them and they absolutely love it. I think I may get one as soon as I get some more money. I just have one question, do you have to download the app to monitor all of your progress?

Good luck on your weight loss journey!

It comes with a "dongle" that's like the tiny usb connector a wireless mouse would come with so you don't have to download the app or if it isn't compatible with your office or device.nI kind of wish I hadn't gotten the flex though and I had gotten one with more functions. I might get one after a few years with me functions and stuff because they are pretty nice

I've been thinking about buying one, since I want to lose weight and be more active. A lot of people I know have one and say they really like it. Is it really worth the money, or is it just overly hyped?
