Recently, I was trying to make an avatar of an old character of mine who uses a spear as a weapon. When I looked for a wearable one, I found the options were pretty limited. Okay, I thought, it's not the same thing at all, but how about a staff? Well, there's plenty of those, but they're either too gimmicky, too bright and cartoony, or custom wearable, which is more trouble than I'm willing to go through. Only two items with halberd in the name, neither of which are wearable. Naginata? Only as a custom wearable.

Basically, what I had in mind was just some simple weapons for avatar purposes only. Nothing glowy or fancy, just some made out of wood, stone or metal, maybe a few ornamental touches with feathers or a little color. Or even some that look like they were made with more modern methods and materials. Just keep it simple.

Now I'll admit right off the bat that I'm no weapons expert and that I'm kind of out of my element here, but I wanted to make the suggestion anyway, in the hopes that people with more specific knowledge and requests wanted to contribute. What say you all?

Oh, and while I'm thinking about it - they're not weapons technically, but walking sticks would also be cool.

The things I would do to get some more simple, basic weapons on this site. Not pet themed, not magical, just basic weapons. And armor. So much support.

Looking to buy this!

I'm so here for the halberd love. I recently started playing Dark Souls, and the halberd is my go-to weapon. I'm curious what the staff would say to un-statted, wearable-only weapons.

I...think there's already a couple of items like that on site? If that's so, I would like to believe that staff would be okay with making more. I was thinking the items could have words like "ceremonial", "decorative", or "replica" in their name to emphasize the fact that they're wearables only and not meant to battle with, to help avoid confusion.

The main reason I didn't originally want them to have stats is because that could possibly drive the prices up, especially if some turned out to be excellent battle items. The idea was to keep them relatively inexpensive (say, anywhere from a few hundred thousand to a few million sp - something that you had to save up for, but wouldn't take that long to do so) so that most players, especially newer ones, could afford them or had a chance at restocking one.

However, while I was sitting here typing out this reply, I had a few more thoughts about that. When I first thought of the idea, I wanted the weapons to be restockable, but I didn't give much thought as to where. The most obvious choice would be the weapons shop, but I wonder if that would be too confusing, to have only-wearable weapons stock alongside ones that you can actually battle with. So, maybe they could have stats after all, but nothing over, say Tier 3 or so.

Or maybe they could be distributed in another way. Maybe Reischen could gave them out occasionally as a prize for Battle Quests, or maybe a new battle opponent could drop them as loot. If anyone's got thoughts on this, I'd like to hear them too.

They could be be restockable from the Trading Card store maybe ? There's dice and things in there, it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to me for replica/cosplay type weapons to fit in there. Or maybe the Toy Box.

Some could be given out for Morostide, maybe through the Pumpkin Patch in sets with matching armor as costume sets or something (though it's really counter-productive if the items are made to look cartoony to fit in with the costume theme so :x )

Just as a very basic idea of the costume sets I'm getting at: Melee weapons with basic plate armor Bows and quivers with leather armor and hoods/cloaks Staves with elegant robes and hoods

Honestly, thinking about this now, these kinds of things could come out just as easily for an EPICon-type event or something. Maybe they could be made restockable in conjunction with a battle week.

There might even be enough potential here for it to be a new shop all on its own. Either a costume/cosplay sort of shop, or maybe something for knock-offs and ceremonial weaponry? Actually, I really like that second one. It could be in the marketplace in the Sacred Lands.

And we definitely need more bows and quivers, too. There are so few, and they're so expensive.

+1 for this

And unfortunately all the expensive wearable weapons are better off used as weapons lol. So, also perhaps the wearable weapons in the armory can show up in the wardrobe and work a little like the "shared items" section.

i mean, im not gonna buy two natashas just so i can battle with one and wear the other. inb4 challenge accepted.

Nnf. Yes. All of my yes. Never enough bows. <3

And I really love the idea of a new shop! The Sacred Land Souk has what...two shops in it? I think that's a fantastic place to put a shop for ceremonial weapons. [edit] I also just realized, I don't think we have a single compound bow onsite? I can only think of a few, most are CWs, and they're all recurve.

Another edit RE bows: A little nitpick. The quiver and the bow go on opposite sides. The sets we have now have them both on the same side which just doesn't work. Bow in left hand = quiver on right side and vice versa.

Ooh, now that's an idea. An armor/weapons shop in the Sacred Lands, that would be fantastic.

Absolutely more bows and quivers, I actually just went looking for some bows and quivers recently and the best I found were ridiculously expensive or CWs (so also either ridiculously expensive or impossible to find).

While I'm thinking of it, we could use more dual-wielded swords too. And 2h swords + Claymores

And some variety in the way these weapons are all held~

You all are amazing! :D A new shop in the Sacred Lands specifically for these sounds perfect, I love it. And absolutely, more bows and quivers, too. In fact I'm going to edit the thread title to just say weapons, to be more inclusive.

EDIT: ...or not. I'll change it soon as that issue's fixed.

I LOVE THIS IDEA A++ I hate taking stuff out of armory to wear and putting it back to use.

Also, always need more non-cartoony staffs and spears, and I would definitely not say no to costume/ceremonial armor. I love all the suggestions in this thread :)

+1 here too. Especially since art on wearables is becoming more and more realistic, the currently wearable weapons just don't math.

Good idea. They could be sold as LARP weapons.

I love this idea. I think everyone has went into their wardrobe to make a fantasy avatar and went, "WHERE ARE ALL THE NORMAL WEAPONS". I have at least 20 swords, but only a couple staves, one nearly unwearable bow, and some random 'others' like machine guns (no normal, cheap guns!). All but one of my shields are too cartoony for most concepts.

Maybe, if this becomes a store in the Souk, it could be like an antique store ran by an older man? Perhaps he opened a stall there because he finds these weapons near the ruins in the desert and makes copies of them. Or he sees ancient armor in a scroll and re-creates it. Then we could have higher tier versions that are labeled 'ancient' or 'relic' and cheaper wearable versions that are 'replicas'.
