Is it just my bad luck or are no questpoints given out at the moment? I did Wizard's and Quentin's quests and didn't receive a single point. Now I started Maleria, but no quest points so far.... Anybody else experiencing this?
edit Ah, Maleria made an end to that. On my 38th quest I got one, so it is just bad luck. Topic can be locked!
I think the programmers sometimes make tweaks to the frequency of how often points are given out. Sometimes Ill get a point every other quest, and other times Ill go through a whole set without getting any.
I don't necessarily pay attention when I get the little note saying I got a quest point but I do know that for the past 3 weeks I've "done all of" my quests each day and I have accumulated over 300 quest points. I just did the maths, if I quit a third of my quests, which on average sounds about right, in a day that's 90 quests and 1890 quests done in a 3 week period. So getting 300 quests points for that many quests completed shows how infrequently they are given out. Some more maths, it works out to (almost) a 16% chance of receiving a quest point when doing a quest.
I'm sure this is much more than you asked for... and probably not what you asked for at all.
(also.... I only know the numbers very specifically because just before 25 Dec I spent almost all of my quest points and I had over 300 when I went to buy today's newly released stickers.)
: Thank you, it is very impressive how many quests you do! And it is good to know that it is not bad luck but a feature :P
I don't know if the numbers of quests I did are impressive or crazy? :D After spending all of my quest points I knew I'd have to build 'um up, and I'm glad I did 'cause of the new stickers. Then the New Year Token became a thing and I was determined to get as many as I could. I ended up with over 500. However I'm definitely slacking now, or taking a break as I'd like to see it.
As well, I don't know how completely accurate my maths are since I was just rounding my personal numbers. I think I might have officially read at one point that the chance of getting a quest point is something like 20%.
I'm glad I could help and THANK YOU for the Fake Rainbow Star Rod. β€οΈ
I hate questing, so before I found out it was easier to just buy quest points from other users for my much more easily acquired sP I would count out approximately how many of the fucking things I'd have to do to get what I wanted. My own numbers were 18.5%, and this was over a week so my n= was smaller than Astrid's. I think the maths and the number that remembers are pretty close to what the real drop rate is.
So the original poster was rather unlucky to only get one QP.
How exactly do you buy quest points ?
I don't keep up with a great deal of how many quests I cancel or do, but I seem to average between 10 - 20 quest points each day I do all the quests.
there's a forum for buying and selling things called Advertising, and there's a subforum called Wanted. I start a topic in Wanted with a title like "will pay sP for your QP" and start making deals. Or, you could just see if the items you want are already in user shops. Which method is cheaper varies, so price things before you offer.
I enjoy the quests, so not an issue, I just wasn't aware quest points were actual items to be bought, as quest point itself doesn't yield any results. Maybe I'm confusing stuff.
You don't buy physical quest points. You have someone with quest points buy an item you want from the shop, for a cost per point rather than the SS price of the item itself
Aha! You are right there is no direct currency of QP, no so I misspoke. There is no QP equivalent to the totally-off-the-subetan-map sP Voucher Exchange.
What said, plus posting there helps the people who have the QP as you are promising them an immediate sale while if they put an item in their shop they'd have to wait until someone buys it from them instead of someone else. You are also helping them by telling them what you want, which might not be what other people want/what sells easiest, so they get more sP for their QP. In particular last month there is a demand for sP as users buy each other gifties for Luminaire, and I had tons of sP to spread around, so I got some very good deals.
