After the snowball fight, there is a huge surplus of leftover snowballs. Maybe there can be an achievement for deleting them, like with the pumpkins? (Alternatively and not achievement related, they could be requested by the Recycle Beast). An achievement might be a nice way to clear out the extras.
No thanks. I don't want any more "Do x thing a million times" achievements. I don't like the idea of the Recycle Beast asking for them either. That'd make points really easy to get.
I'd prefer something similar to Fantine asking for pumpkins, or Charity asking for food, where you can randomly get an item when turning them.
The issue is that this would likely be counterproductive, since people can still buy snowballs in bulk (not sure why that was left there, but it was). So basically the people who still have extras may be deleting those, but everyone else will be buying snowballs to delete... what means the same issue caused by the snowball war may happen again: people generating items to delete them too quickly, causing server overload.
On the other hand, if the bulk option gets removed and then any achievement/feature gets added, people will complain that those who autorefreshed the page are getting rewarded, so I'm not sure there's a solution for this.
There was no reason to buy that many snowballs in the first place, and by giving the people who did that an achievement, I believe would send the message that users should compulsively refresh on pages that give cheap or free items.
Just wait until the RB asks for them
We already have lots of DELETE X ACHIEVEMENTS. we don't need more
There's so many other creative ways they could get snowballs out of the system other than having us delete them. But that might just be my hatred for deleting items talking.
(Oh, the snowballs were changed to r175, which I'm pretty sure is a rarity the RB doesn't take! If the RB ever asked for that, then it would definitely be The Day That Subeta Comes Down, as everyone would be ARing the bulk buy page...)
I also like the idea of turning them in for a chance at an item a la Charity. Closing the Emporium outside of winter (let's say the snow melts) might help the prices go up (= more sink) as well as keeping people from easily amassing cheap new snowballs to donate. You can't even use the snowtapult outside of December, so.
