Feeling a sense of disquiet - it has come to my attention that there aren't Costume Trunks in the Cash Shop nor on thinking further that there hasn't been a new one in some time. Will there be Costume Trunks in my future?

I don't recall if they officially announced it, but I assumed they were slowly being discontinued. They've somewhat been replaced by the Boutique items, and I guess also by the themed items in the general items in the CS.

Costume trunks have always been a little on the rare side but they're incredibly popular; it's nothing I'd be too concerned about until something official is announced.

Evy's response above seems to clarify it perfectly. Having been a nine year member and having a keen appreciation of the trunks I knew it was just a matter of time - the format will change, tis all.

I just don't see the point in turning trunks from something that can be easily afforded with some saving into buying up single items at inflated cost. I'm not paying 150CSC for items, Idk about you. XD

Don't think it will be horrible - I think it will be a Boutique type of offering where you can buy either just the pieces you want or the whole thing.

Basically, they cost too much to make to be profitable at their 500 CSC price point.

I have seen pieces from the trunks show up at the Cash Shop Hustler.

He mentioned it in the news comments during the black Friday sale. I'm super bummed that they're all done for :( I was hoping they'd consider putting them out in a different format more like the boutique simply because I feel like they occupy a different niche than the current boutique styles which seem closer to vanity or subeautique items. Though both boutique and subeautique have their fantasyish moments...

Thanks for asking about this, I was a little confused about it myself. Of course I haven't been around for a couple years so I thought they just took them away. Was too afraid to ask :p

In my opinion, it is just simple greed; costume trunks GIVE too much for a relatively small (i.e. reasonable amount,) so they have to be done away with so we the users can be charged 150CSC for single items (I won't be buying.) Nevermind that they were awesome themed item collections with connotations to real world pop culture, everything now has to be done in the name of profit.

It sure seems that way from the outside. I'm sure the argument is that the site is a business and the artists deserve to get paid for their art and that's very true! (And I hope to God that the artists aren't paid based on the profit their creations bring in!) But I think the main issue is that people were rarely buying them full price, rather waiting for the black Friday sale when they were traditionally ALL brought back retired or not and offered for half price. Plus, why ever buy them when all of these limited items are in and out of the CS never to return and you know the trunks will be back next year? So they really weren't making anything on them and it probably looked like the user base didn't even appreciate them. That's why I really hope they look at options of releasing them differently. The money users have spent on them does not reflect how much we really love them!! 💗💜💗 cough Maybe they can put some of the contents in the free shop... cough
