Back in the day when I first joined Subeta, there was a little something called interests (http://subeta.net/preferences.php?act=interests).

You could add stuff you're interested in and then you could put those on your profile to meet people with similar interests as you. So on an old forum, I found that link, and I edited my interests (I'm the biggest dork ever, I'm OBSESSED with musicals. Like, the classics. Half a Sixpence. Show Boat. Carousel.), but when you try to search for people with those interests, there's a 404 error. Therefore I'm assuming you can't look them up anymore. I don't know if this was removed because of an issue, but if it wasn't I think it should be brought back. It's always great to find people that love the things I love to the extent I love them, you know? I'm sure there are many of you out there that would agree.

So what do you think? I'd love hearing feedback from other people. :D

I always kinda liked the interests feature. I mean, I know it's easy to say "Oh i like this and that" on one's profile, but idk something about the actual interests widget on profiles was fun. I'd love to have it back.

i'd also like to see this make a comeback. i used to have so much fun filling it out and sniffing through everyone else's interest widgets way back when.

It reminds me of Livejournal and that's sooooooo old and uncool, haha. But since the forums are dying and making a "who likes ____?" often gets little to no response, it would be a convenient way to find people with the same interests. If people bother to fill it out, anyway.

I like this idea. As it is, I don't talk in the forums much (I'm far more of a one-on-one talker), and you have no idea if someone's into the same things unless their username/profile/pet names hint at it.

I don't mind that feature on other sites. It's occasionally very useful.

exactly this. i also support--i feel like it kind of got lumped into the same "useless" category as journals (which i understand) but i think the interests box could be nice to have around again :) i would use it!!

Although this isn't a feature I'd be likely to use, I still agree that it would be nice if users had the option to do this again.
