I'm not sure if this has been said before or not. There are good amount of pirate related items, and I would love to have a pirate pet to have treasures to go with them.

- The problem with this is that Subeta doesn't like dressing pets up in clothes, and clothes are probably the biggest thing that makes pirates what they are.

I do love pirates, but I'm not sure how this could be done without clothes.

True. Some pets have clothes, so make it so only they have it? Make it so that it is a difficult color to get? I know people like to complain about not being able to get things on this site, but personally I would do whatever it took to 'earn' the color.

Maybe just have pirate-ish patterns or something? Replace a leg with a hook, or pegleg?

Harvesters and Waradors are the only species that have clothes of any kind though :l I just don't think there's enough to work with to make all the other pets piratey without adding clothes

All of the pirates in the Pirate/Islander war were pets, and all of the Islanders were the native humanoid Subetans. Fish Breath Jacques is an (underpowered, compared to how strong he was at the time of the war) Battle Coloseum challenger. So NPC Pirate pets with agency already exist.

I think I'm tempted to say since it was event-related, JGAO for this one though. You can have a pet in any color, and have one of Subeta's awesome artists clothe them for you.

I love the idea of Pirate pets. Most of the pirates on Omen Islands are humanoid/pet hybrids so pirate pets could be like that.

I like this idea, I really do. And honestly I don't think it'd be the end of the world if pets had on smaller pirate related accessories, like bandanas, eyepatches, or gold earrings.

[Item=pirate charlie plushie][Item=pirate escalade plushie][Item=pirate kanis plushie][Item=pirate illumis plushie] These plushies are already a great example of what pirate pets could look like. They could either have a new color scheme made up for them, or they could be more desaturated versions of some of the common colors. They could appear mischievous, aggressive, serious, or look like they're plotting something, as far as a "personality" for the color. Missing patches of fur, scars, ripped wings, and other injuries could be added to emphasize how ragged and ruthless they are.

The best way to be happy with someone is to be happy alone. That way, company is a matter of choice and not a necessity.

I'm really against pets wearing clothes, that's incredibly Neo. So I'm going to have to say no to this suggestion myself.

We need a color with more desaturated tones, but not pirates.

Also,no anthro pets, please.

I'm not necessarily against pirate pets (there's lore to base that on, for sure), but I can't see how that could ever be made without an instant association to Neopets' color :/ I can only see the "oh look, Subeta copying stuff again" finger pointing coming up all over again :c

That is, unless Subeta got its unique twist to a pirate theme, like it could easily be done with an islander theme. However, I find it much more difficult to deviate from the standard on a pirate color while still keeping it easily identifiable as such... and yeah that would probably have to be manageable without clothes :x

I'd really love it if we could stay away from clothes-for-pets. The day Subeta turns into Neo and sacrifices cute pet art for the ability to dress them is a day I don't wanna see. ;n; I'd maybe support this if it could be done without clothes, but, no.

Pirate pets would just be a colour. We wouldn't be able to dress a pirate pet any more than we can change the clothes of a Harvester, Warador or Ghostly. Nobody objects to Harvesters, Waradors and Ghostlies having clothing.

I have thought about that. It's just not something I'm wanna do at the moment. That's what I was thinking. The pets have color schemes, so that's what I was picturing in mind. Not necessarily clothes on them. I like your suggestions to how to make this color a possible thing.
