It's dismal to flip through the pages of "sketch the HA above / draw a pet for the above user" threads and see fifty percent of folks claimed, but never given art--weeks, if not months and forever later.
Would it be too much to provide a time window for the person you're claiming, stating how long you think you might take to do the art?
Even if it's "within the month!" - just so the person knows.
Real life is a thing, we all get it. But leaving users hanging is disappointing, rude, and it's definitely something that kills the liveliness of these sort of threads.
I have to agree. Now if they have a shop open or have a Freebie forum, just as long as they get the art done for others, it doesn't bother me. But on "claim above" Forums, it makes me cringe. It's not fair to the user above who doesn't receive the art within a few days or moth, or ever.
And the unfortunate thing is, it's usually an eternity before these threads max out--if ever--and require a new one, where instating this courtesy measure could happen in the OP. I wonder if it's an idea that, if it gets enough support, is worth messaging a mod over? Maybe they could post on the thread with the message akin to "from here on out, please specify a time window." And yeah, I mean expressly for the "claim above" threads. :c
I agree 100%. I also think some users claim on "User Above" threads to be greedy. I've noticed a few users who have posted many times and never completed the art for the user above them. A mod should step in and set some permanent rules on those threads like a time limit/window.
