The new cat ornaments are hilarious and super adorable. It'd be cute to have at least one dog one come up. My late dog one year got into the Christmas presents under the tree and tore a lot of them open (the naughty thing!) It'd be cute if there was one that had gotten into the gifts underneath our trees!

I've also seen bigger dogs get their noses into the trees near the bottom and come out the other side (head on one side, rear on the other) with ornaments on their head, tail and collar!

Cats are notrious for getting into Christmas trees, dogs not so much?

I would have rather seen the broken ornaments had related to Subeta species, like Felis rather than cats, but other than that if they are going to continue with real life animals, I wouldn't mind seeing birds and stuff.

DOGS... IN A TREE? WHAT Aren't dogs supposed to be trained to not do stuff like that? Or too big to fit in a tree?

I have a hard time imagining a dog in a tree. Unless you have a chihuahua, the tree would probably fall over and you can't make an ornament of a dog in a tree if the tree is destroyed.

Not quite sure how big your Christmas tree is (or your dog), but a medium sized dog does not fit in my Christmas tree.

And when I read "bigger dog" all I can think of is a leonberger in a tree. Which is not the type of dog that even fits with their nose through a christmas tree. But I guess your standard of bigger dog is not the same as mine.

I can't imagine a dog of any size inside of a tree. And I can't imagine a bigger dog even fitting inside of one. And anything beneath the tree is going to just be hidden by presents.

The only way I could imagine this working is the dog stands on its hind legs, with its front paws up and in the Christmas tree. But it probably wouldn't feature as much variety as the cat ornaments offer. And Idk how this would work otherwise.

Dogs tangled in lights

That is all.

Those dogs look stagged.

Anyways, yeah 90% of animals in trees are cats because they're stubborn and want to destroy everything they think they own a dog should know better, that's why they get all the people food and the cat gets shamed. I have had my "larger" pomeranian (he's large for a pom, at least) launch toys into the tree, and I've heard of dogs running into trees but not because "omg tree" but because it ran out in front of them like trees are known to do.

I wouldn't mind, in that regard, oddly placed tennis/rubber balls (like, wait this isn't an ornament how'd this get in the tree??) or the likes, but I feel like dogs in trees is a minority xD!

I do second the feli remark, though. I mean I know we have a ton of minions and companions and whatnot that aren't subeta-pets but it would have been cuter if they were feli xD

The dogs tangled in lights are cute and all, but I don't see how they'd work as ornaments for a tree here.

Uh, i have a bernese mountain dog and admittedly she can't climb like a cat but she can stick her face and front half through our tree. All it takes is a decent tree stand. I'll try to get a picture when we put it up i guess. And because she's so big she's used to just pulling small trees out of the ground to play with, and thinks the christmas tree is her personal chewing tree that we were nice enough to bring inside, and can't be left alone with it. Wrt ornaments, i can see smaller type breeds hanging by their teeth from branches or perhaps with their teeth chomped down on some edible ornament, or tangled in lights mid-tree, looking perfectly shocked to have been discovered.

As for "aren't they supposed to be trained", lol. Train ur cat then

I agree that the dogs tangled in lights look staged. This suggestion is a lot more cumbersome than the original concept, whether or not people have cute personal anecdotes about their house-pets. Cats get tangled in string. This an actual thing, a trope.

Dog ornaments would be super cute - but not sure about the actual dog in the tree thing, like they did with the cat ones. Although it would be hilarious to have a chihuahua or dachshund sticking out from a branch. XD
