Since the new pet colours were released the other day, I was thinking about other cool pet colours that could potentially be made. I thought of the idea of Glitch pets, where the pets could be glitchy, twitchy or something. You could change it using a Glitchy Potion, or Glitched Potion. You could make them like robots/animatronics, and have them glitching or twitching in their pictures. Just an idea.
We already have scribble pets, which are almost like glitched versions of common pets.

This sounds like it would be a ton more work for the artists that likely wouldn't really be utilized as much. [edit] (okay really this is getting spooky with the forum points)
Hope I'm not hijacking your thread too much but my first idea upon reading the topic title was glitched graphics-- which, while not quite what you were going for I don't think, would be really cool for a pet colour.
Either bright coloured graphical glitches (Google "glitch graphic") or something more muted glitches/monotone/greyscale like in the original Pokemon games. (Google"Pokemon glitch".)
Or maybe even where portions of a pet are glitchy like Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph? Like this.
If it's something like these ideas then I'm on board. (Granted it could be done with an overlay, but then so could other colours, so...)
Friendly ping for bc I know how much you love glitch stuff~
Sounds more like an overlay you'd have for scribble or steamwork... Or... you know... just steamwork. :/

, that's what I was thinking towards. I didn't mean Steampunk.
Guess I'm just reading your opening post wrong then? The mental image I got had nothing to do with robots or animatronics (as we already have that, pretty much) nor would it have animated pet images (as that's just not a thing), unless you mean a static/non-animated pet image that is simply drawn mid-twitch or something? But yeah, my thought was less the pet is acting odd/bothered and more the pet/image file is corrupt. The pets would either be stylized in a pixelated style (which, admittedly, might clash with the style of the site) with some glitching (think glitch pokemon) or it would be a common coloured pet with stylized file corruption/glitching. (The latter being the best way to go about making this pet colour, imo.) Maybe a new pose, despite the base colour being common? I dunno, I'm digging my mental image of it though. Honestly, a good example (or the best I can think of off the top of my head at least) is the overlay for the pet Kcalb, but with the glitchy bits being on/a part of the pet itself and not the space around it. The pet is based off a Black Adventures character who, long story short, is basically infused with the glitch pokemon missingno.-- who you can see in the corner of the overlay iirc.
If your idea is the same as mine then awesome, I'm not hijacking your thread :D However if so then your first post doesn't convey what you mean very well. Not for me at least and not for the people who assumed you were thinking of something similar to steamwork pets or even scribble pets.
^ That's what I was getting at, but I didn't know how to describe it lol. Sorry for confusion.
I think what Scizzle is getting at with Glitched pets, is if they were similar to Missingno, how it looks like a computer generated image glitching out, perhaps pixels being displaced on either side of the pet image.
Here's an image to show as an example of what I mean:

Ohh, I get it now. That could actually be pretty cool with the right approach, and it would be perfect for my pet, Glytch.
I thought there was something kind of like that in Digimon at one point, but I couldn't find it. I seem to remember one of the villains glitching out like that, maybe in one of the movies? I don't know if I'm making that up or not, but that scene could be a good reference if someone can find it (if it even exists). :P

Experiment pets are more like mutations than glitches aren't they?
