Hi there!

I've recently started thinking about developing my pets and giving them actual stories, TC items, and rest of the things that I see and admire in other people's pets. However, I have no idea where to start! Do you guys have any advice about developing pets for total beginners?

I plan to make my Lain Calypsara Glade. I was thinking that she could have some sort of nature background. I'm not planning to change Baby because she was adopted from someone else and I already love her to bits. I also am thinking about making a Storm Noktoa, and then getting a pet to zap into Experiments. In terms of stories/names for them, I have no idea! I'm not really sure where else I can go after that.

EDIT: I just adopted a pet named Dienne and made her a Storm Noktoa! I've also got myself a pet named Parma, which I think I'd like to zap into an Experiment and make him a food-loving loveable pet.

Well everyone has a different process. Some people like to create fan pets from their favorite anime, TV show, book, etc. While others will focus on a basic personality concept or story idea and expand from there. Using your glade pet as an example, you may try asking yourself what role in nature does she play, how did she get that role, does she have any odd quirks, does she go about any tasks by the book or are her methods more unorthodox? So basically ask yourself questions, you may end up somewhere interesting XD And can then use that to flesh out your pet.

Even if you just like a certain pet color. You can think of how they may have ended up that way. There's no right or wrong though. Just have fun :D It's ok if you get stuck. Either switch to work on a new pet or take a break to perhaps look at other people's pets for ideas. Sometimes you may even want to browse the adoption center. You may see a name in there that you like and will have an idea for. There's also a nice board of available real name and real world names available. I sometimes use that if I'm stuck for names.

Perhaps I'll try using character sheets for stories and filling those in.

I have some ideas for what I want to do with Calypsara once I actually turn her Glade. I also want to try zapping a pet, which I've just named Parma - he will be a food-loving loveable Experiment, I think.
