There are a LOT of usernames in the SB that are so long you can't read their posts due to not only their name being too long and creating the white box their UNs are in to widen to two lines, but also because of that weird gear icon that is there on an almost permanent basis (except when the SB is in a really slow spell and the user icons, comment bubble and gear icons disappear).
Would there be a chance that...
a) there could be a character limit for all UNs so that all posts can be read clearly
b) the gear icon could be taken away to make reading easier (however, that won't always solve the problem as the name could be just long enough that it forces the comment bubble onto the next line making the white space wider and allowing for reading difficulty)
c) users with long UNs' SB boxes get changed in such a way that there's an adequate space in between the base of the white area where the UNs are and the actual message box so that all posts can be read properly
I think option C would be the best of the three. It doesn't disallow for people to have the UNs they want, it doesn't take the gears icon away for whatever purpose they're used, and would make reading perfectly clear instead of text being partially, or completely, covered by either the UN or the gear or comment icons due to any of the three causing the white area where the UN is to become widened to two lines.
Currently it's against the rules to hit enter enough so that users with long UNs' posts can be read legibly as it's apparently seen as spam. Something needs to be done so that everyone's posts can be read without obstruction.
Here's an image to show you an example:

I blocked most of the UN out as I didn't get her permission to use the user's name who created the post, but I left the first letter, the last letter of the first part of the UN, the first letter of the second part of the UN and the last letter of the second part of the UN intact so that you can see the length. It's an 11 character UN. See how you can't see part of her post? It's happening a lot in the SB. It makes trying to talk to people very difficult
