I recently found out that there was allegedly a gang-rape at my old high school. I graduated from there in 2010 and had heard that the school had gone down hill after losing the principal that was there for my four years. There were 6 teenage men (I only say men because I believe these boys should be tried as adults) that raped a high school girl in the woods between the school and a local MacDonalds. She went to the MacDonalds with two of the guys, and when they were walking on their way back to the school they met up with the other four guys and coerced her into the woods. She even got some of it on camera, including them asking for sexual favors and her saying "no." very clearly.

Only one of the alleged rapists were an adult, and he was only 18 and still a student. My sister will be going to this same high school in about a month, and I am terrified for her safety. I don't want her to be terrified at school, so I am trying to just lightly touch on her staying safe.

Oh, and by the way, the 5 under-aged suspects were recently released with no charges filed. The 18 year old is being held for sexual battery and false imprisonment; I can't believe that all of the other teens are getting away with this, which just adds to my fears because if they did it once and got away with it, won't that make them feel invincible?

I just can't believe something this heinous happened less than 5 miles from my house, in a nice area of town. Of course both Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman both lived close by, so maybe I shouldn't be so surprised.

Here's a news article about the incident: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/winter-springs-teen-gang-rape-suspects-expected-in-court/30111378
