Most of us have that item, that pricey plushie, retired food, or old donation item, that just rots in your vault.
Overpriced? Maybe. But even when the price is slashed, it takes months for it to sell.
Worse when it's not a good gift either, as it's just an overpriced item that's not too notable. Would be a waste to delete/donate/let it rot.
What do you guys do with items like this? x_X; Like with certain retired items that are over 5, or 10 mil, and just kinda... sit there.
I'm being really vague, but I don't want to be yanked for advertising, but it's not even in my shop either, it's just sitting in my vault still. It's a retired seasonal plushie, but other than for complete plushie collectors, which I don't see often, I can't think of a way to sell or give it away.
Giving it away would just give someone the same issue of being unable to sell it, and it feels like a waste for me to personally chuck a 10+ mil plushie in my collection.
It's just frustrating trying to save up for Luminaire gifts by digging around for crap to sell and this item's price stares you in the face. |D;; But I suppose everyone else is trying to save as well with Black Friday recently passing and Luminaire season upon us...
good god, don't get me started on these items! haha i'd gotten a 20m+ sticker from a library quest and i was stuck with it for MONTHS and MONTHS AND MONTHS until some day, the heavens separated and an angel descended, taking it off my hands, lmao. i don't have any tips for getting rid of these items. i, like you, found it wasteful to just use it for the sake of it or give it to someone else to be bothered with it, AND the millions (even at 50% that i sold it for) were too tempting. the only tip i have for items like this is: keep going. advertise, advertise, advertise. one of these days some obscure collector is gonna pop out and buy it and it's like the best win/win to ever win/win. maybe a seller has it on their wishlist. anything. it took 6+ months in my case, and it might for you, too. but one of these days!!! hahaha most importantly, don't think too much about it (which is contradictory to my previous 'tips' of basically shoving it in everyone's faces on advertising threads...), don't worry about it being yet another day and that damn item still not being sold. it's just there. focus on something else! quest, do whatever. :') questing should give a couple millions a day (especially after autopricing all those lovely rewards).
The feeling. ;_; I get this all the time. My vault is filled with things I don't dare get rid of because of this. Luckily, I'm one of those obscure people if you happen to have a on your hands. ;)

What I hate is that the only way to get rid of stuff over 5 mil these days, for the most part, is you have make a selling board and give everyone 40% off. Which is madness. THATS MY PROFITS YO, KNOCK IT OFF.

- Indeed! ~ I don't know if a board like it exists, but I'd like to see a thread of HTS trades. I mean, I know there are plushies/food/etc that I find HTS that I still like to collect and need more of. Maybe we could trade between same-like users or something...
Oooo, love that idea! It'd be a great place for collectors to nose through and a chance for people to sell those HTS items. Fellow users could totally end up swapping their HTS items. It'd move slower too, so those posts wouldnt end up drowning under more popular boards with stuff like csc or wardrobe sales
Ah yes, I know that pain. @ There's a difference between cutting down ridiculous prices of rare items and cutting the price of odd rare items just to have a chance to sell it, eek!
I don't mind selling items at 50% off because most things I want are not extremely expensive, but I know the pain of stuff just sitting and sitting in my vault and shop. It's a pain and I usually throw the harder to sells in trades and someone will pick it up sooner or later.

~ I have created a thread like it before, but mostly with my own things. I wonder if it'd fair better if it were a group/ping group, and a group thread rather than smaller threads. If I knew of a handful of people that might be interested, I'd totally create it up.
