I am doing a private cw for the first time, well, tried before but didn't get the results I wanted, but anyway, I am doing a clothing/wig set and the wig is private. The artist that's gonna do it is VERY good at what she draws. So that made me happy she accepted my request for an artist. Again, anyway, it's gonna be private. Now I have more than 10 ppl in my private group, not saying all of them will want a slot, but now I'm faced with a minor dilemma. I want to do one batch in my cw thread, but would it be wise to put one more batch in my cw shop, still listed as private. OR should I just keep it all in my cw thread....

I see no issues with putting a second batch on your shop, as long as you're clear to everyone about the item being capped at 2 batches! As in, don't say it'll be capped at 1 and then change your mind - that could put you in trouble. Of course, it would have to be password protected, but as soon as everyone got their copy, you could manually retire the item.

Several people have issued a few extra copies of their privates via the new shops (password protected and invite only), it doesn't have any impact on the private status. (:

ah ok good. I haven't indicated how many batches yet because it will be a couple weeks before the artist can even start on it. Anyway, yes, it would be password protected in the shop. And manually retired? Wouldn't it auto retire once the "second" batch is gone? interesting...

Now how about auctioning off one copy. say I buy two copies for myself, one to keep and one to ... well, I dunno. With it being private, I seriously don't wanna jeopardize myself and get slapped with a warning. Can I auction the other copy even tho I state it's a two batch item?

Well yes, it would be auto retired if the second batch sells out. But if it doesn't, and no one else is interested, you could set the quantity in your shop to 0 to retire it.

As long as the auctioned copy is still within the 2 batch limit, you'll be fine. Private vs. non-private is not a thing supported by staff.

What said! I mean manually retiring if you know, for example, only 14 people wanted it. So you put the second batch in the shop, send out those 4 invites and once they're taken, you manually retire the remaining 6 copies (by setting either price or quantity to 0) just so they don't sit idle there. Eventually you may unretire if you need to send an invite to a new friend, etc.

Yeah as long as the auctioned copy is within your limit, there shouldn't be any issues. If you state in your auction that the other people agreed to not selling their copies, there's also no reason to presume the item is less rare or anything like that, too.

In short, if you promise a cap of 2 batches and submit it with a cap of 2 batches, there's hardly anything else that could issue you a warning.
