Hey there! I'm getting a puppy who is a rescue of sorts. He's ten months old, a boxer, and has been an "outside" dog (i.e. has no training, was never let inside, and just in general hasn't had much of a life from what I can muster). I'm really excited and really nervous and really, really not in love with his current name, Tito. I'm trying to think of names that sound sort of similar. I was considering Titan but I also know that the last syllable is really important in dog names. I'm sort of looking for a range of names to figure out what would fit him best (y'know, assuming I meet him and Tito really doesn't fit him, if it does, he is Tito, but I also know that adopting a new dog and renaming them can be good because they might associate their name with their past living situation). this is him if you can see it. (:

Maybe Porter, Teddy, or Chase? Tucker's a nice name too.

Hmm. Frito, Chico, Peko, Leo, Reno, Echo, Rico, Mojito, Niko / Nico?

Cheeto and Pogo are adorable. I considered Vito/Veto as well.

Chico is clever! Relatively close... Peko/Pico would be cute as well. Mojito also adorable! I consider Niko/Nico but it's also what I call a friend of mine and it's also also to close to an Ex's 'nickname' thing.

Definitely writing these down on the list.

I actually have a friend named Vito haha. He is a burly dude with a big beard. :P

I hope so! These definitely help, and they range across a lot of options which is great since I don't really know much about his personality/etc. to find what would fit him :D

It's kind of funny you say that because I cracked a "Name him Rocky" joke to my mom because he is a Boxer! :P

To be honest, I like the name Titan that you were thinking of. Also, my friend just rescued a boxer maybe a couple months ago. He was super emaciated and nervous around people. Now, he is at a healthy weight and loves people. They named him Bentley, if that sparks any interest.

Or your dog might be like my dog, Jake. When I got him in January, I planned on renaming him. But he knew his name super well and would always respond to it whenever I simply said the name "Jake." I ended up keeping it as is. (But I guess that would be the benefit of coming up with a name similar to Tito lol)

I like Mojito and Mojo. I also think that Beemo could be a good name. (:

lol. My cousin and his family has two pit bulls named Rocky and Apollo. Both are sweet as pie. I don't know what but when I looked at the picture, Rocky just popped into my head.

- When we adopted kidlet's shih tzu mix at eight months, he was called Teddy by his former owners, then Fonzie by the shelter.... We renamed him Caramel and while it took a bit, he did learn it, and now knows he is Caramel. We completely went with a new name and sound, because I hated Fonzie with a passion and she wanted a "food" name.

In that spirit, and looking at his picture, Brutus. We had German Shepherds when I was growing up named Brutus and Caesar, but Caesar died when I was really little, so all I remember is Booey (Brutus was when he was naughty, Booey for everyday).

The name Bentley has really really good memories with me, so I will think about that! It's not even remotely close to Tito, but it is a very Boxer-y name for sure.

Hey! It's been awhile! We had a rottweiler named Brutus awhile back, so even though I love the name that's a definite no-go.

Cosmo is also super freakin' cute! Ahh! So many names!

- Yes it has ! I also will suggest Stark, either for the Iron Man or the Game of Thrones, as it's also a strong name.

I like Stark! It's cute, and definitely a sturdy name.
