GAH! so I'm sitting in bed next to my sleeping boyfriend and he keeps doing this thing with his foot where he drags his toenail across the sheet making this Horrible scraping noise. and he's doing it over and over and I've poked and prodded and practically yelled at him and he won't stop. the ONE time he's a heavy sleeper! Normally I so much as shift and he's glaring at me for waking him up.

So I'm trying very hard to not smack him or kick him. I am even tempted to cut his nails in his sleep.

Cringe-worthy noises anyone?

Scraping glass and grinding teeth!

I know your pain, by the way. With my boyfriend it's a race to fall asleep first, because the second he's out, he snores like you wouldn't believe! IT... NEVER... STOPS D:

- Having sensitive ears makes so many noises cringe worthy for me. :/

A short list: Scraping utensils on plates, dogs barking, babies crying, high pitched baby talk, Scraping a chalkboard, revving engines.

-in-Sand My boyfriend snores too. but I've gotten so use to it that now I can't sleep if he doesnt. (it means hes breathing which I appreciate)

my hearing is pretty bad usually (if you have a low toned voice I have to ask you to repeat yourself quite a bit). but I can steal hear all those noises and yes I cringe every time. And add Chewing to the list. I can't deal with any form of people chewing around me. I do fine if there is a distraction (tv, conversations of large groups of people talking etc) but one on one I really tweak out!

- I can tolerate chewing, but people chewing gum with their mouths open bothers me.

i have misophonia. not an extreme case. but pretty bad. at work I had this lady looking over my shoulder as I was trying to look up something for her on my handheld she was chewing gum and I kept trying to step away from her and she kept moving too. i almost turned and slapped the gum out of her mouth. took all my strength not to.

- Ugh, I hate it when people don't give me personal space. And chewing gum next to your ears? How rude and annoying.

It's really bad when they don't even realize how annoying they are.

Ugh, I'm generally in the same boat about noises. You know the general, chalk board scratching, hearing glass being scratched, car screeching, etc. It's mainly those high-pitched metallic sounds :'c

Definitely gonna join the "hate utensils scraping plates" club. because omg, that is the worst sound on the planetttt ughhh. If I have to clean food off of a plate, I'll just use a napkin or something just so I don't have to use a fork to scrape the food off.

OH and it's also super annoying when there's a tv or other loud noise when I'm trying to go to sleep. I have a hard enough time falling asleep so anything else going on drives me up the wall.

Chewing. Chewing is probably the worst noise to me. I have misophonia and it just grinds my gears in all the worst ways when I hear someone chewing, and my family has this awful habit of smacking their food around as loudly as they can I s2g. I've brought it up (kindly) before and they just tell me I'm being too sensitive and that people make noise and they don't chew with their mouth open. U G H BUT THEY DO AND IT'S TERRIBLE. I literally have to plug my ears if I'm around one of them eating. :((((

Whistling is also pretty bad but that's more a minor annoyance.

My cat gets this particular tone of voice, all loud and a little deeper than his usual voice, when he's just like "eff you all!!!!" and I just can't gahhhh. His usual tone of voice when he's just saying hi or wants to draw attention to empty water bowls or something, that's fine. But when he's practically howling. I hate that.
