Genetic splices were common in the final years humanity struggled to keep itself alive, however all human/animal splices were unsuccessful and died in torment. The animal testing subjects ruled and thrived - excelling in the new, hotter, post-apocalyptic world they call home. Haunting images of deserted buildings covered in moss of the once most populated stations of mankind... what will rise?

Name: Salus Riel Age: 5 Gender: Male Splice Type: Arctic Wolf & Dire Wolf Appearance: Has burlier build of a dire wolf, and has multiple spots of dark brown on his coat, along with multiple spots of white. He has a much thicker coat then a usual dire wolf, due to his Arctic Wolf lineage. He has dark goldish-brown eyes that seem to shine in the dark. Basic Personality: Despite his large frame, Salus is usually cheery and loyal to people he trusts, but he still acts suspicious around other splices he doesn't know.

Name: Revon Lief Age: 7 Gender: Male Splice Type: Raven & Indigo Bunting Appearance: Revon mostly takes after his original Raven DNA, having a larger bird frame and a puffed out fluff on his neck area. He has mostly dark blue feathers, and has a few black feathers on his wings and towards his legs, and slightly lighter blue feathers towards his chest area. Basic Personality: Revon acts usually in a neutral manner, not really ever being happy nor really stoic. He usually follows around Salus, eating what he leaves behind, as Salus has come to tolerate him.

An extra long tail flicked behind the pale gold and silver merle body. She blinked lazily and sat back on her haunches. Her tongue opened and a lazy yawn with an ending growling noise came out. Nef's head lowered as she sniffed at the ground, she was bored and felt lazy.... but a tinge of hunger called her attention to her belly. Perhaps it was time to start searching for breakfast. Claws dug into the ground, unretractable they often got in the way of the extra fluffy padding her toes had - or they never touched the ground. She got to her feet and scented with her mouth open, the idea of prey becoming more interesting by the second.[/small]

Salus' eyes opened lazily as he looked around. Nothing much different than when he went to sleep. He got up to a sitting position as he yawned, exposing his sharp teeth, and then ending with a huffing noise. Revon had woken up long before him, watching over Salus on a tree branch, waiting for him to finally awaken. Salus' ears stood at attention, listening in for any potential prey, his dark brown and white tail slightly wagging, making sure not to make too much noise as it swished through the fallen leaves. He then proceeded to get up and pad along the forest grounds, sniffing for any potential prey as Revon followed in his step, flying lazily behind.

Someone was nearby. A narrow, black tipped muzzle scented the wind, determining the source. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing the wrong way, and Feal couldn't scent a thing. But he knew he'd heard it. Rusty ears rimmed in black that seemed too large for his head twitched as he listened for the sound that had awakened him. It had sounded like a yawn, possibly feline in origin, but he couldn't be sure, considering he'd been asleep. Golden eyes blinked in the morning sun as he glanced up to judge the time. It was high past time he woke to find some breakfast, but if something bigger than he were out there it was best to play it safe and wait. His silver, black, and red coat was shadowed enough in the little scrape he'd dug himself the night before that he wasn't immediately noticeable. His enormous bushy tail hid black legs that gathered themselves, ready to fight or run, should the source of the noise show up.
