He's not created yet so I won't give his name, but I want to be ready when I get my loyalty box in December. In their universe he and his comrades take the form of dragons... more of the European type, reptilian with four legs and wings... but this particular boy also represents the element of water. His personality is sort of quiet and reserved... he doesn't talk much, but he feels very deeply. So far I'm considering:
Dusk or Twilight Torrent Dusk, Galactic, Glarier or Hydrus Swampie (Swampies are only available via the zapper, right? so I would need to zap for this?) Hydrus Paralix Dusk, Galactic or Hydrus Serpenth Dusk or Galacic Magnus
Things I was considering but have since rejected: Dusk or Galactic Paralix Galactic Mahar
I made a little graphic to help myself see all these pets at once... at least I think I got all of them. You can look at that too if you like. Please excuse my layering oopsies because I don't know how to use PSP.
Feel free to suggest something else! Though I will say, I don't like the look of any of the Tutani colors... not for him, anyway. Wings will likely be added to the dragon-type pets who don't have them via overlay. I have access to the Omen Islands so Hydrus wouldn't be a problem (and I do need that achievement, but I don't want to let that sway me).
I'm really just so torn. Help?
There are Swampie elixirs ^X^ But they're easy to get through the zapper too.
I really like the idea of a Swampie for this character! I think they best combine the dragon and water aspects. I like the Galactic, Glacier, and Hydrus ones. I think the Glacier has the most reserved expression of the three. The Hydrus is the most water-y, but my personal favorite is the Galactic... sorry I can't narrow it down more than that ^X^;
I think a Hydrus Paralix or Serpenth would be great! I'm leaning more towards the Paralix though, since you mentioned four legs. Maybe an overlay with the body changed to a sea blue, the fins a transparent version of the markings on the body, and the underbelly a lighter shade of the body... Ooh and maybe add some wings?? (Or whatever the creatures actually look like lol) I get carried away with thinking about things like this :c
See! It's so hard! But I'm definitely leaning towards Swampie too, either that or Serpenth, and I think the Hydrus of both is my favorite (though the expression would need to be changed, I think... he doesn't glare much, just sort of looks... blank lol)... but I also really love the Galactic... agh.
Nono, I definitely don't mind you getting carried away! He'll definitely be needing some kind of overlay, though how much of one depends on what I choose. But I love your ideas about recoloring the Hydrus pets... and yes, he'll definitely need wings because his dragon form does have wings.
Im just curious but based on the pet being based off of the European(or western) dragon have you considered any of the Rreign colors? if you have passed on those then I would probably go with either the hydrus serpenth or paralix and do an overlay of the coloring/extras you want. a swampie could work as well, but I think they are more loch ness/dinosaur looking to me.
@ austria I'm probably leaning towards Hydrus Serpenth because it's one of my faves out of the batch. It looks like you could almooost use the legs from the Paralix somewhat making the overlay, their poses are so similar xD
What about retouched Experiment btw?

I did consider the Rreign, yes, but I don't really like the shape of their bodies for him. Not sleek enough, you know what I mean? But I do agree that the Swampie is a little too Loch Ness.
I'm really leaning toward Hydrus Serpenth as well. I've pretty much decided on Hydrus for the color, but I've had pictures of the Hydrus Paralix, Serpenth and Swampie open for days. The Paralix has legs, but I'm not crazy about the pose, and I like the Serpenth's fins better... but it seems like it'd be difficult to add legs and wings to that body even if I cut them off the Paralix... The Experiment pet could work too, though his face would have to be reconstructed a bit... I don't think that would be too difficult for a talented artist... but now I have another choice to make! D: (though... I could always make him Hydrus to get the achievement, and then zap him... though it seems a shame to zap over such a lovely color... especially if she asks me for some ridiculously expensive items...)
If that helps Merana used to ask only for Spells Galore items and I think it is still so? Most of them were dirt cheap the last time I checked and there was only a handful worth more than 1 mil so the odds are pretty good?
yeah I got to thinking about that a bit after mentioning it(but got distracted by other things and didnt get back to here til now lol) one thing you might try is get an artist(or if your able to do it) draw up the serpenth in the pose you want with the wing and legs added.
I googled it and it seems a lot of the items she asks for were made wearable? (I don't even know how old that post was) so it drove up the prices at the time. But it varies, one person only had to pay 21k, someone else had three items under 500 sp but then one item that was 2m, so it really just depends... I probably would be okay with 1 or 2 million as long as they weren't ALL that price!
I'm not sure... really got me thinking about that Experiment. It might be a lot easier for an artist (and way cheaper for me lol) to make small edits (removal of spines and recolor) to that pet than it would be for either Hydrus option... I'm really considering it!
ah yeah that's a good possibility. whichever route ya choose Im sure will work though. though zaps are pretty much luck of the draw. you could always throw the experimental dew into the mix or use whichever miracle potion does color(not sure it works with experiments though) or use the potion totem from a loyalty box
Yeah, I was looking at the "what did the zapper give you" thread and it seems like a huge pain in the butt lol. I really have to ask myself, am I patient enough for this? Probably not, but I can't get it out of my head. With a little reworking 8001 is actually kind of perfect, because in the story, he kinda sits in that pose a lot, or something like it.
Miracle Potion II will change a pet that's already an Experiment to another Experiment type, but I don't have the money for that. ^^; Although Black Friday IS coming up, so it's a little more feasible. Experimental Dew is a cheaper option, though I run the risk of spending many millions before I got the pet I wanted...
yeah thats the problem with the dew(though I think it still restocks, the apothecary apparently) Im guessing your plans for your next loyalty box is for a pet slot? GA? if so maybe pick up those on BF and use the totem for the color?
Yeah, my anniversary is in December and that loyalty box will l be used to get the slot for him to begin with... do pet slots count in the sale? (I know GAs don't) If they do, either option would be the same price.
It's Apocalyptic Apothecary, I believe.
I think this is the last year they will be included..I dont recall if gas do or not..been awhile since I bought one during a bf sale
I'd personally go with one of the pets that aren't directly smiling if you want him to appear more reserved. Granted, that can all be fixed with a good overlay, though, so I'm not sure that's actually a valid suggestion. ;o; But my vote would be one of the magnuses or the galactic swampie.
Art by ❤️
Any of the faces would have to be faced wi... wow, I'm sorry I just woke up. ...would have to be changed with an overlay... except maybe glacier, so it's not really a factor. He does smile sometimes, just not a lot. I'm really looking at more overall body shape than expression. But thank you!
I zapped two pets into experiments I wanted and it usually took about a month or two. Experiments are a common enough zap in the v2 Zapper, you just need some luck to hit the right one. I mean, I'm reasonably sure once you rng an experiment zap out of a couple of other zap options you are only competing among other experiment possibilities. But yeah, it does eat tokens a bit.
As for Hydrus and Merana quest nobody really uses them as wears much, I think, mostly those that are a part of good battle scrolls are worth anything and from what I see there is one retired item worth millions (preasumably not something she will ask for in a quest) and everything else 1 mil or below with most of them fairly worthless :)
