Change the 3 month rule for debate forum

If you look over the debate forum, there are a lot of boards that are locked due to someone posting after the board has not been used in over 3 months. The problem is that those boards DON'T MOVE AT ALL and yes it's been over 3 months....but the topic is not even halfway down the first page, and you can't post, but you also can't make a duplicate topic.... If you go to the debate sub forum, it's even worse, there are some posts on page 1 that are from 2011!!! Please think about altering the rules for this forum as it's very frustrating to see a topic on page 1 for over a year that your not allowed to post on....:/
I'd support this. I don't go there often but, even at that, I am aware of the problem.
Alternatively, perhaps debates should be actively "screened" and any that haven't been posted on in 3 months should be locked, as a rule... At least the ones on the first page.

What? You can make topics about the same thing as a necro topic. o.O Heck, you can even make a topic about the same thing as an active topic.
I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to say. If a topic is old, just remake a new topic about the same subject and accumulate fresh opinions.

I honestly have no idea, this is just something a friend told me in regards to her cw shop - that she had to let it fall to page 3 before she could make a new one, so I assumed this is the same across all of the forums?
I thought that rule applied only to the cw forum to be honest.

Ah ok, thank you for clarifying that for me! ^_^ It's great that you can make duplicate topics then! It's still annoying though if you want to reply to a specific post that someone has made on the previous topic but you can't xD
Honestly if the person's post is older than three months, they like don't need or want a reply. I think the rule is fine as is, and you can create a new topic if you want to discuss the issue/topic
