It was interesting to read about Shinwa and Maleria in the past through their Subetapedia pages, since fallen figures of previously great power are fascinating. But have they had a plot?
Like, maybe a quest-centric one rather than a RS war? Like, to tweak their asking list, so that'd they can ask for anything to avoid ramping up the prices of a specific group of items (like the weapons if maleria was the same). Gotta get your hands on whatever resources during a war, right? And maybe you could get special prizes occasionally, but almost every time you'd get a point or two that can go towards a shop or your "team".
Like, maybe things start going downhill around the site. Monster of light causing chaos in Shadowgeln and Darkside, Monsters of darkness attacking residents of Sacred Lands, ect. It isn't about good vs evil, it's light vs darkness and light can be just as dangerous as it's counterpart, which I would love to see emphasized. (this could also create a battle aspect of the plot with various monsters of elements with a range of difficulties for battlers of all skills)
Some shops or places of questing would close and would have to have help opening up, because of the incidents happening around the site. Not enough to shake the foundation of regular restockers that want to avoid the plot, but enough to make a point that something's going down and it's hurting the residents.
================
BUT ALSO, what if rather than a simple show down, there was a mysterious 3rd party to spice things up? Like, rather than Maleria or Shinwa being like "lol screw u let's finally fight sistah", one of them disappears, and light-dark chaos follows. Logically, people would blame one or the two. But then the second disappears, and things start getting dire. Where did they go? What will happen to them? Where are these light and dark monsters coming from?
Like, a plot that affects all of subeta, and the fact that light is not technically good as well as dark is not technically evil. Both can be either or, so it's not just everybody join the side of light support goodness plot.
EDIT: Some Thoughts On The Divine Entities is a great forum board with a similar desire to see some interesting plot changes to how not only Maleria and Shinwa work, but also Mori and Nori (considering they're Maleria's child technically). Like, giving them a bigger role in the site, rather than Maleria and Mori/Nori being simple quests and Shinwa wanting her bracelet that Maleria continues to break.
And the mysterious Oracle that's supposed to keep Shinwa in check.
- I actually quite like this! I'm just in general thirsting for a big, thought out plot with LOTS of things to do on here.
❤️ My Wishlist ❤️
I would love to see a plot expand on Maleria and Shinwa! And if it didn't devolve into the catfight sort of fighting and delved into their relationship in depth all the better :)
Practically, it would be a great opportunity to revamp Shinwa's quest as well, because it makes little sense lore - wise as it is.
This is a fantastic idea! I would love to do a big plot like this. I could understand people wanting to avoid it too, so I agree with not having the entire site totally effected, but just enough so you know something is happening.

Personally, i feel that if we do a plot with such important characters, we either go all out or not do it at all.
i like this idea! it could be a nice plot for a restocking war kind of thing...
and i agree with , it's an entire site, important characters, it should affect everyone, obviously not something that affects the pets or ha or account permanently but it should include everyone
There are some interesting ideas about a goddess war plot here too - [topic not found]
I think a plot based on the quest format would be dull and get tedious fast. A questing element to gain points would be good (like during the last Reading Drive) but I can't see something quest-centric not feeling overly repetitive.
I'd love another RS war with battling like Pirates vs. Islanders. saying that "never" doesn't mean that his mind can't be changed encourages me a little about restock wars since he's said he isn't a fan of them.

Oh gosh, I'm so glad people like the idea! ;A;
Yeah, that's one thing I was worried about, but maybe the RS war aspect could come back. Otherwise maybe it'd could transform into a mystery explore thing, like with clues or plot progresses littered around the world of Subeta, kind of like when we explored the rooms in Jaxon's house, or sleuthed our way through Masquerade, except on a larger playing field. But if it's a war, I can see it playing out into a plot w/ a lot of battling, but not everyone battles. ponders So while RS wars can mess with prices, it's something that everybody can do, which is nice.
Yeah, I was kinda worried about putting out an "go all out" idea, but what if Subeta took a chance with one of their plots? It wouldn't be cripplingly affecting various parts of Subeta, but would definitely make it obvious shit's going down. That's why I enjoy light vs dark rather than good vs evil, since everyone can get affected. Whether you're neutral, good or evil, it's hard to work when chaos is running rampant due to known or unknown forces.
I don't think a heavily battle-centric plot would be a problem just because I was pretty new during Pirates vs. Islanders and still managed to enjoy the plot and prizes despite not being involved in the battling at all. The experience wasn't diminished for me and I didn't feel left out of anything. If I remember correctly, that plot was done in a way that meant battling added to your score and contributed to the team's overall points but there weren't any unlockable steps or needing to battle to progress in that sense. I really don't remember how a restock war messes with NPC shop prices because it really has been such a long time since the last one (the first EPICon in 2010?) but I think the biggest issue now would be lag.

Unfortunately I missed that plot, but it's great to know it was still accessible!
I also went over the forum post you mentioned, and it's JUST what I wanted to see! Thanks for sharing it, and I totally would love to see those points implemented. You know, to make them more like fallen gods and demi gods than go-and-fetch quests.
Also for RS wars, I noticed that normal-rare priced tems tend to go down, but I still really enjoy RS wars personally. Lots of fun. (Wasn't such a huge fan of the "steal from the other team" instances in the gamer rs war)
Yeah, i was going to mention the pirates vs islander war.
OH lawdy i loved that plot. Even though the plot was fairy battle heavy, one could still earn points by restocking. And the staff can definitely add newer ways to allow one to collect points, whether it be games/quests/etc.
That plot had face painting, water balloon fights, trinkets. I love another plot like this in terms of variety, length, and complexity. Plus, battling could only get you so many points before it became extremely tough. So over time, it balances out (though i know Keith has been against RS-ing for wars).
And yeah, lag is the biggest enemy :/. And the fact that no matter what happens, people WILL complain.
My kingdom for a Pirates vs. Islanders sequel with a voodoo zombie theme and the return of face painting.

I also like this idea. The story can be arranged in many different ways, anything could happen. But we get to see some actual dynamic between Shinwa and Maleria (and maybe Shinwa can finally get a revamp?). And regardless of plotline, it would be big enough to affect the entire site. Then, imagine it lasts for a month or two, rather than a week - a long-term event that matches the importance of the in-universe happenings. With enough thought, it an be done, and it can be done great.
