Hello! I just recently got back into Subeta and I had a question about CWs.

I was looking at items for my HA and I noticed that most of the things I want are CWs. Let's say I wanted to buy this:

Do I need to find the creator in the CWs forums and buy it through them? Is there an easier way to find them, rather than searching through the forum?

I apologize in advance if this post has already been created and answered. And thank you! :)

Not necessarily! The first step is to run a regular shop search to see if the item is being sold on anyone's shop (CW or regular). If it's not, then you'll have to search the forums to find out release information (private, public, is it still available for reissues?) :x Sometimes you'll be able to express interest directly to the creator, but most of the time, especially when it comes to older CWs, you'll be buying them off other people on the r200 subsection of Advertising!

...sorry for the short reply, haha. Feel free to ask more questions if you need!

You're welcome! CWs can be a bit confusing so just ask whenever you're in doubt about something xD

You can also use this topic: [topic not found] to find information, but for the most part it's all about searching/googling, there arent any mysteries! c:

Oh boy this is a loaded question. I'll start simple and work from there. Simple answer is to simply shop search by the item name. If any exist in trades, pawn shop, user shops or user owned CW shops those results will turn up. If no results then it's time to turn to the forums. Simply go to the R200 section in Advertising and make a buying a "item here" thread. If someone has that item(s) for sale they'll reply, if not you may be SOL getting said item(s) Also you can scope out http://subeta.net/forums.php/forum/27/Custom-Clothing and sometimes people are looking for last slot(s) to get filled on their item(s). Typically for this you ping the maker of that CW you're interested in and ask to be slotted. If you do get in to have a slot you will need to have that csc on hand to pay for it. Once fully approved you get your copy. The makers also have the price to slot on their items next to the proposed CI/final CW look so if you liked it you would know the cost.

You can also try to use google to research if any item has a sold history to know a fair price to find the item at, no matter if you are trying to sell or trade old items or trying to buy them. Sometimes however you may find little to no data on CWs this way, those few I have at best only found who made them but no prices or last sold ideas.

Now here's where it gets complicated to many people. There's a concept of "private" CWs. You need to know firstly this is NOT upheld by staff at all. This idea was put in place by people wanting their CWs to go to specific groups of people (be it as prizes, gifts, ect ect) and to not ever go to anyone outside this approved group. So IF you ever see a CW for sale and it says "can only be sold to x group" it means you need to be part of said group to "have" it. However if it's in say the pawn shop or donation corner and you grabbed it there's nothing anyone in those groups can do to make you give it back. Some people who find out this happened tend to be fair and offer the csc you may have paid for it back, but if you buy it fairly it's yours.

And most likely you're like me and just see "wow pretty" and buy it if you have the means to. I don't keep up on this idea of private CWs, but it is a thing to be aware of so if you can't get your ideal CWs sometimes at least you know why that might be. Other things can be it was a one batch only item and sales of it rarely ever happen or people who got it never will part with it.

I will definitely be bookmarking this thread. Thanks so much for your kindness and help! It is definitely appreciate :3

Your post was incredibly helpful, thank you so much. I wasn't even aware of "private" CWs, so thank you for making me aware of that. Thank you again for your help, I am very appreciative. I really hope all the times I want aren't a one batch only item, I'm working on the cutest HA right now using the 'generator' in the wardrobe, haha. Thanks again!

For example on the "private" CWs I only the ONLY public copy of . The rest are considered private for the members of that group. This would mean should I opt to sell or trade this item I'd have to talk to the maker of it and ask if they want it back first for the csc I paid or if I could make that sale to interested parties. But that's an example of one where the buyer KNOWS the conditions of that item.

Recently there was a in the pawn that later after it was picked up to have had been a private only CW. In this case whomever bought it got it most likely not knowing the condition to "have" this item.

I personally think if you buy it it's yours, but yet some people don't see it that way.

I agree with you on the last part. I don't see why people would want to limit their CW to a certain 'group'. From a business standpoint, I would want my product to go to everyone to maximize profit, haha. But, I don't make CWs, so I guess I don't really understand, oh well.

But thanks for your help!
