I get challenged by the Ice King every time I'm on the site, sometimes more than once. It's kind of silly. Can you reduce the chance of this event happening, or stop it from happening all together after he challenges you the first time? It doesn't make sense to happen more than once, and even more so all the time.

yes!!!! I get challenged like 10 times a day I'm serious. Making it so you can only receive this event one time a day not only makes sense (why would he have to challenge you over and over throughout the day?) and it would allow more chances to get other REs. Haven't seen a subq invite in eons, to be honest.

I'd love to see reduced chances on this event, or I'd actually be a fan of it retiring after it happens once and unlocks the challenger..

There are actually people out there who enjoy beating the living shit out of him. It would take the fun away for them while it doesn't necessary hurt you to get an event that you don't use.

Actually, Ice King is a weird battle challenger in that he can only be fought when you get that random event. You have 10 minutes to get into a battle after you get the event, much like how you have 10 minutes to visit Tempest once she wants to hug you. The battle can last as long as you'd like it to once you are actually there. You do not actually permanently unlock him when you get the event.

With that said, I am very much opposed to the idea of retiring the event. Not to mention that I find there are REs that are useless to everyone that are annoyingly common, such as the Calvin Blackmoon flying around one or the one that has Lizard Minions running away from something (not the one where you can actually get an item from them).

...yeah the event could only be retired if the Ice King became a permanent/unlockable opponent.

Otherwise I'm sure it's pretty much just another Murphy situation where if you don't want to fight him, he'll show up every other page, but when you need to kick his face he's nowhere to be found :x

There are other events that are useless/pointless that should be retired, this is not one of them. Ice King can only be fought when he challenges you.. he isn't a permanent opponent that you unlock, so that would be very unfair to battlers. Just ignore the RE if you don't want to/can't fight him??

I think Ice King should be retired from April to September, and be active from October to March

And we could have a April-September counterpart. Fire Queen? Fire Lord?

But no to fully retiring the event.

Also to everyone, I didn't mean to suggest the RE be retired. I meant to say that it should be eliminated if you could unlock the ice king. Sorry that was unclear! I didn't fully understand how it worked.

But the event is still really annoying, especially if you don't battle. Maybe change the dynamic of the event like some other people mentioned? Either making him permanently available to fight after getting the RE or making him seasonal? Something to change it up.

I don't like this suggestion, I'm sorry but I need this challenger for my 5th win, and the last time that I got the RE was last week, so maybe you get him 3-4 times a day, but others don't get him that easy. And also, I don't see a reason why all the users need to be affected by reducing the RE just because few users finding the RE annoying. it's a little bit rude tbh..

What we need is a Random Event store. Each RE gives you an RE point. And item prices in the RE store are based on rarity. EG, Oracle takes like 7 points, where as SubQ takes 2, Ice king will take 2 as well.

i think they should leave it as it is. I, personally, dont understand how it's annoying. Does it just take up like 10% of browser real estate, then its gone? Unless you are thinking that the occurrence of this RE affects the occurrence of other REs (which idk if that's the case).

Though im down for Sopheroo's idea of having rotational RE challengers.

What if they made it so you can only get the Ice King RE once a day but the time span of how long you have to fight him was until midnight subeta time or something? And then it resets and whenever you get the RE the next day you have until midnight again. I don't know. It's just mighty disappointing to get challenged by him with such frequency when I'd also like to get other REs.

You can only get one RE once an hour. Of all the hours I spend on here during the day and when I get the Ice King most of the times, yeah, it does affect not getting other REs.

Forgot to say that I can also get behind the idea of retiring him for the summer.

I do like the idea of retiring him during the warmer months and only having him show up when it's cold/coldish makes perfect sense.

Hm... Would it be possible to make the challenge random event unlockable?

If you try to get through the ice fields (no need to actually get through to the end) with your active pet (t10, 11, 12 however high you have to be to pose a decent challenge to him), you get an event saying that he noticed you and considers you a threat to his domain, or something.

Those who want to fight him could still get the RE and anyone under the tier isn't affected and doesn't get the event. I feel like that'd keep both sides happy, if it's possible to implement.

I just want fewer Ice King REs and more Subeautique REs.

Retiring him is unnecessary. Limiting his events to once or twice per day would be really helpful, if possible.

a toggle is impossible though. Because on every page you visit it has to check if you toggled it on or off. Imagine the strain on the servers :(

Well, if we want to make everyone happy, I want the SBQ random event to be retired.

They could just be put in a shop or something. Or, given by quests. After all, IDC about my wardrobe, so why should good random events be wasted by these crap pieces of paper.

But, the random event I want to see gone is the stupid +1 quest from the wizard. I never do his stupid quests, because tokens are too cheap. Quests in general is also not a way I chose to make money. Wizard, go bother someone who actually quests aka, not me.
