So I've been thinking about buying more pet slots and I was looking around for info on how many pets I can have, the FAQ says that someone can have no more than 25 pets but I have seen users with A LOT more, upwards of 40+.

I have no plans to jump from 12 pets to 40+ any time soon but I am confused how this is possible if there's a limit of 25 pets. Or is the FAQ out of date?

The FAQ needs updating. It's been possible to get more than 25 slots for a long time.

The people who have upwards of 40 pets also have bypassed the "regular" pet limit by using Loyalty Boxes (LBs add slots on top of your limit, which you can't purchase outside of that) c: They're typically the oldest users on site!

Edit: I think we can get what, 35 pets now? 10 with a regular GA, 10 from pet slot plushies (which are still available for purchase on the new system so no worries) and 15 that have been added more recently. So 40 isn't even so awfully far fetched! All you'd need would be lots of csc and 5 years on site xD

The plushies no longer work, but the pet slots that are listed as being from them are still available, I think is what she meant.

is right, these 10 slots used to be obtained by plushies, but now they're (only) available for direct purchase on the pets page c: On top of those, we were allowed 15 more slots to buy, for a total of 25 + the 10 you get normally on a gold account ^_^

Edit: yes, on the breakdown you see on your user dashboard page (under the personal menu on top), those slots are still broken in as "pet slot plushies" (10) and "new slot additions" (15), even if they can't be obtained that way anymore they still got that "label". Sorry for the confusion!
