I wondered does anyone know if the beastie is still asking for event items?

I'm a hoarder but it's good to know my hoarding isn't for nought ;)

Currently, the beast is asking for R1-99, R101 (retired) and R160 (Game prizes).

He is NOT asking for 175 (Holiday items), or 150 (special). However, staff have said that many R150 items are being changed to R160, or R175.

EDIT: he is currently asking for Festival Litter, which is R175, but this was a special item added manually as far as I know.

I'm really not sure why they started to restrict what he could ask for, I certainly loved him asking for anything and everything. It may have been due to complaints about him asking for Steamworks items? or Wizard tokens? Or Donation items. But with him asking for 20 items a day, changing every day, even if he did ask for the occasional ridiculous thing, I'd still prefer it that way.

I think, if I remember correctly, they revamped him around the time they were revamping quests and a lot of that stuff was aimed at changing the user shop value of items. But really, if the intent behind the beast is to overall reduce the amount of items that exist sitewide, then having him ask for R175 items would go a long way toward achieving that.

- I'm with you all the way on that. I don't mind if he asks for those high price items as 1 or 2 of 20 items so long as there are slots and holiday "freebies" too. I love events but things like tot items can become so worthless if they aren't useable. I think it would be better to have a different rarity for the holiday shops to the, more or less freebie, holiday items like tot/pp/floaters etc. That idea got shot down when I suggested it but it would certainly help with the beastie being able to mop up tons of items.

Waay back when the RB was asking for any and all items, he was only asking for three items per day. While it may not bother either of you, when he started doing it again for the 21 item version users did complain in Suggestions about it.

Quentin and Cinthia now ask for r175 items and are doing it at a rather strong rate. Nothing r175 stays worthless, and the Recycle Beast isn't necessary to ensure that. Some particular item may seem worthless to you, and that's fine sell it to me and other users who realize that they're not for super cheap.

We'll be charging you 10x to 100x that two years later, thank you.
