I only use tokens for the token shop so I was wondering what a good amount would be to keep on hand?
Right now I noticed that if items are put into the shop I can only grab one, even when it's restocked later in the day, and the items are not that expensive token wise. But I'm sure there are more expensive items, I remember when there was potions in there a bit ago but I can't remember how much they were.
Thanks.
Potions are usually 700-1000 tokens. Most items released in there are less than 500 tokens though. There are some weapons that have been put in for a few thousand tokens.
(Erm, the [item2=lucent] was selling for 12500WT, which is not a few thousand in my mind)
It's been a long time since they've done this, but sometimes they also do chains of items over a period of several days. The total cost of the items cost more than an average user could reasonably earn, so it's worthwhile to keep a few in reserve.
I never let my balance drop below ffteen thousand, because if I ever sell/use that many that I'm down that low the spot-market demand for them is enormous and I sell the remaining WT at very expensive prices.
I've only ever bought items that were on my wishlist and I've never really thought about buying to re-sell. Are the items in real demand after the token shop empties?
I currently have a little over 7000 tokens banked so it wouldn't hurt to keep adding to it? I've always just banked my daily 50WT and sell the other 20WTs I get.
it's easier and more reliable to sell WT directly, and you can do it over and over whether or not you had a turn at the Token Shop at the time there was stuff, nor do you have to guess how high the demand is for any particular item as WT have many uses. I have no idea if re-selling the items is a thing to do or not.
I save my fifties and give them out as gifts, because getting the Currency Exchange to give you them is tricky-you gotta do it one at a time. If you ask for 100, you don't get two fifties, you get one one hundred. Twenties are nearly as hard to get back out, but it's also easy to score more of them from Allard in the first place, so they are the ones that I bank.
As for how many to bank, my criterion is this: WT suck and are almost entirely useless to me. I hate vending, am not compulsive enough to do the Black Heart Hollow, chancy enough to play Elwood's Oracle Shop game etc. Furthermore, I play Subeta a LOT and I swear I'm still never around when the Token Shop restocks two-thirds of the time. Therefore, WT are a side-effect, a (mostly useless) free bonus if you will, to the sP and Quest Points that the Wizard gives out. Over and on top of this, my Shop is so large that I make more sP selling other stuff, by far. They're just not worth dealing with for me, so I've got nearly sixty thousand of them.
Last year, the price was driven high enough by the Zapper that it was worth my while to take them out and sell, but so far not so much this year.
It's definitely worth it to re-sell token shop items, especially if you manage to catch the first stock. Yesterday's new it is still almost 7m and it was only 600 tokens. It's best to either sell the item right away or hold onto it if it isn't something that's going to be re-released any time soon. It's also fun to give black heart hollow a refresh every now and then, almost all the items I've gotten from there are from randomly popping in, not from regularly checking :). Anyways back on to the main topic, I try to keep at least 12-15k tokens on hand, just in case something cool and expensive ever stocks :)
