When I get a notification for purchases in my shop, trick or treating, a comment to my profile, or any number of other things, a tiny red 1 shows up on my browser tab. So even if I am not on my subeta tab at the time, I know I've gotten some kind of alert from the site. However, I never get this kind of notification when I've been pinged from a forum group (sbqrs, tsrestock, etc). I get it if I am pinged as an individual, but not for groups. I swear I used to, but it seems to have stopped. Is there any way I can change this? Some setting somewhere or something? I've looked everywhere I can think of that it would be, but there doesn't seem to be anything.

(I'm on Windows 8 using Firefox, but since I still get notifications for other alerts, I don't think that's an issue)

It's not a setting or anything you did, it's an error with the new forums unfortunately. It's been reported, I think

The new forums, of course. -_- I did look through the bug forum but didn't see anything (so it's either farther back than I went, or I missed it... either is likely). Well, at least hopefully staff are aware of it so it'll get fixed eventually, I miss so many token shop restocks. XD Thanks!

A while back I wasn't getting pings to tsrestock, so I subscribed to the topic (in the general forum) and so got alerts whenever there was a new post to the topic. I'm wondering if that kind of alert would show up in your tab? Its not a perfect solution, since people sometimes post to the topic when there isn't a restock, but, still you might find it helpful as a temporary fix until they fix the glitch.

You mean you got a red alert in your browser tab after you subscribed? I know pings to that group weren't working for a while... but I still get the ping, just not the little red 1.

I don't know, I have the red alert turned off because I find it disruptive. But you could test it. Subscribe, then either make a post yourself or wait for the next restock to see if you get the little red 1 along with the alert that there's a new post to the topic.

...I didn't know I could even turn it off. The only reason I kept it on was for group pings lol. I'll try testing it out... but for future reference, how do I turn it off?

Its a browser addon called noscript. I actually don't recommend it because its very fussy with Subeta. There are some functionality issues that I sacrifice to use it. You have to be very comfortable working with your computer settings to use it, otherwise it can make browsing Subeta nearly impossible.

Oh, I thought it was some subeta setting. Lol, yeah I know all about noscript. I used it for neopets, but I didn't bother with it on my new computer cause yeah, it's a pain.

Yep definitely a pain...LOL I never know, when new problems crop up its a general subeta glitch or a problem with noScript, or sometimes even my custom CSS.
