65/68 pets are available in glacier right now, so it seems like a good time to start thinking of new wintery colors to take its place once it's finished.
What about taking inspiration from snow covered trees? Firs, spruces, and pines dusted with light, fluffy snow. Fur and feathers would become soft green branches, while horns and nails could be either smooth ivory, or brown and textured like bark. Pets that don't normally have fur could get some small tufted accents. For example, the kora could get a little mop of branches on top of its head.
Edit: Things like skin or shorter fur (especially on the legs and underbelly) could be dark browns or a lighter tawny color.
They'd all then be covered in a thick coat of snow with a slight bluish tint. Throw in a few pine cones and sticks for fun, and you've got yourself a new pet color perfect for winter.
If you wanted to add a Luminaire spin, you could even add in a couple tiny, glowing fairies for some extra color, sort of like how glade pets have butterflies and things. The light would reflect off the snow and give a kind of faint glittery Christmas light effect.
To contrast with glacier, evergreen pets would be happier and more playful, rolling in the snow and having fun. Edit: You could even have some of them partaking in classic winter activities: a bumbus building a tiny snowman snow-bee (like Stitch and his sand castle); a cybill sledding on its stomach; a chelon with its shell converted into a portable igloo; a warador packing a snowball and readying to throw it (and then maybe another pet getting blindsided by it or watching as it sails overhead).

I like it, I think there should be little bits of red(like little red berries?), as well. Would really make them pop.
I absolutely love this idea, especially if the snow had a bluey tint to it :D
A few more photo references if you want them
(can you tell I'm a sucker for taking photos of snow covered trees?? :P)

Oh I really like this idea, Fur/Pine trees are some of my favourite trees so I'm kind of biased lol. I think adding the snow faeries for more colour is cute too along with 's idea of the holly berries! These could be really very pretty!

LOVE this idea! I'm kinda worried that the pets would be large, lots of clutter? but if done right it would be so beautiful! And the lights/sparkles touch would be really pretty.
it's an adorable idea for a winter themed pet... i just don't see it as a new pet color. a new pet color should mean a new element we have winter / cold / snow pets...
also, i don't know if the meaning changes from one place to another, but i thought evergreen means the opossite of snow... green and blossom trees
- Evergreens are trees like pines and firs keep that their needles all year and stay green through the winter. These trees are very common in snowy places.
The opposite of evergreen would be deciduous, and those are trees like maples that have bright fall colors and then go bare during the winter.

I'm not really seeing this as a strong enough concept to merit an entirely new color rather than an overlay for a Glade or Glacier pet, unfortunately. Admittedly, it is a shame that the Glade pets are so confined in their variety of plant life. But in my opinion that just means users have to rely on overlays more when it comes to less popular flora.

got it! still i think it wouldn't be a new color, perhaps it could be done with the last glacier pets... i don't know which ones are missing
i also don't get the part about running out of glacier like you and mention =/ like all pets are going to be done, but that doesn't mean we need a new snow theme pet right?
what you mention about the fall colors, that i would like to see, perhaps introducing this fall pets in fireside, then we could have all seasons: glade - spring glacier - winter fall - autumn perhaps hydrus for summer
This is a cute idea! It would be really cool if someone could do a mockup.
For some pets they could have little branches sticking out covered in snow and berries. Maybe even little lights would be nice?
I think people forgot we already have a second winter color which is nowhere near running out, and it's Nostalgic.
This feels too much like WINTER GLADE for me to like. I don't want a second thing with snow accents because UH UH UH WINTER IS COLD.
It's not really about replacing glacier. I just came up with this idea and then worried that maybe there were already a lot of colors for December (glacier, nostalgic, and angelic), and it might be kind of overwhelming with four in a single month. But if glacier is almost done, then that wouldn't be a major concern.
Overlays are always an option, but I hope that evergreen is different enough that it can stand on its own.
I wish I could do a mockup like suggested, but I can't really draw. :x
[edit]
And just for fun, 40/68 nostalgic pets have been released, and 58/68 angelic pets (but like half of the angelic pets need revamps so...)

Personally I think since we already have Glade pets, we don't really need another plantlife based pet color. And since we already have Glacier pets, we don't need another snow based pet color. This is a great idea for a pet overlay, but for a whole new color for the site, it seems unnecessary and like it overlaps other colors too much.
I see glacier as ice rather than snow, which I think is just different enough to work. I can understand the criticism though.
And I think the idea was coming off as too green, so I made tweaked it a little. Specificially, I added that "things like skin or shorter fur (especially on the legs and underbelly) could be dark browns or a lighter tawny color." Because tree trunks? :P
I love plant-based color ideas so much. :(

- Yeah, I think so? I keep going back and forth on it, but I think that's the best way to do it. It might even be a strong enough idea to stand on its own without the snow, like if it focuses on the woods-y feel and really builds up the textures of the bark and pine needles.

I love this idea!

My idea is less Evergreen and more Woodland, but it might work with some changes to certain aspects. -shrugs-
Anyway, what I'd really like to see a take on (the movie version of) LOTR's Ents... Where all the aspects of the pets would be based on tree or plant biology. Roots and/or vines as "fur"... Broken branches as horns... Bark as skin... Berries, etc. as decoration... Maybe even with plants growing in/on top of them as plants will do just that given the right conditions... Not nearly as lush as the Glade pets... More... Woodsy. XD
I've been imagining them with nests and birds in/on them too. (Could be "winter" birds I guess... Cardinals and Blue-Jays are a couple that show up here in the winter and fall.)
-thinks further- Snow and frost, abandoned nests, gray skies, holly berries, and leafless trees all say cold weather to me. Also, this time of year, cute little squirrelssess (or as my Dad used to call them "tree rats") are a common sight here, flitting from tree branch to tree branch, though not as much once it's actually winter. They are usually curled up in their nests by then and hibernating which could be incorporated instead I suppose.
Anyway, however they are done, I am all for more plant-related pets so this gets my vote... They could do one for every season as far as I am concerned. (Glade's already got spring covered... Something tropical could be for summer... Would love to see pumpkin, squash, and creepy crawlies for fall... And something like this evergreen idea and/or my Ent-ish idea for winter.)
