i wasn't sure where to put this, so if it's in the wrong board, please let me know. i wanted to know how much they go for nowadays, since there's only one in the shops for an impressive price of 50mil. i read that they used to go for around 30mil, so how much do they go for now? and do you reckon the price will increase or decrease in the future?

Firstly, there is a (silly) rule for this forum that the item can't have a price listed, which, this one does.

As for the price though, they are always priced in the CS at 1.5k csc. CSC runs pretty steady at ~18m/500. So anyone can buy one at any time for ~54m (or better yet, the 50m priced one in shops), so the secondary market price is clearly going to be lower.

They generally come up for sale a lot though, since events like the potion lotto give them away, which drives they price down. I believe at one point they were 2k csc in the CS, but csc was also much cheaper. 30-35m still seems like a decent price for them, if you're patient you should be able to grab one for that, potion prices in general really don't change that much. If you're selling, I'd throw it trades or shops for a few mil under 50 and work from there.

[edit] Wow, you found a raffle ticket while responding on the forums. Check it out in your inventory!

thank-you for your reply. that is a strange rule indeed.

i see, so if a lot of people decide to sell their angelic potions won from the lotteries, the price will go down temporarily. i will definitely keep a look out. is this potion lottery worth entering? if one ticket costs 500 and 1000 people enter, your expected success would be once in 1000 days, which would be a total expense of 500,000sP, right? then again, there's no guarantee.

did i really? i don't see anything in my inventory or shop log.

It used to be a decent rule, but now it basically turns this forum into a cw/weapon pricing forum, while most of the other threads get locked. (Speaking of which )

I haven't closely followed potion prices, but like I said, I wouldn't expect to see major changes. It sounds like you're looking to buy one, and I'd suggest just searching the trades a few times a day and see if one pops up.

Potion lotto isn't really worth it, imo. It could be, I know a few people that would buy like 2m worth of tickets everyday and win quite often, but it's of course random, and I would be tempted to believe you could invest the time it takes to buy the tickets into something more worthwhile. (RSing, questing, whatever) More people tend to use the potion lotto for gifting, you see people winning a lot on their birthdays, for example, as their friends buy them a ton of tickets. The way the potion lotto is set up, you're math is slightly off, as there are 26 "buckets" of tickets, and each day only one ticket is drawn from one random "bucket". So if you buy the standard ticket of only 1 potion type, you could own virtually all the tickets and still lose if another "bucket" is picked from.

haha, no, that was a random event I got while posting. You occasionally will get an event when you post saying you got one, and it'll appear in your inventory. People tend to edit their posts when they get one. (especially when they first came out and were pretty rare)

i see, then i agree that it would be best to lock this thread as my question has been answered.

right, it's relatively easy to earn money on here so it wouldn't be wise to depend on luck. i can see it being a more viable option on websites where money is scarce. oh, interesting. so the probability is even lower. you would have to multiply (1/26), making it a probability of 0.00003%. that's definitely not worth it hahah.

ahh i see, my bad. thanks for explaining!

Just as an aside, I acutally put most of the boards with questions about already priced items into Help & Questions instead of locking them outright. It can be a bit of an irksome rule (actually I often leave threads open here that only have one item priced at 50mill, just for discussion purposes), but that's the way she rolls! :)

I will go ahead and lock your board if you're not using it anymore, but if you have a question in the future about an item that seems to be priced oddly, feel free to make a board in Help & Questions! :)
