This is likely to get shot down immediately, but I was daydreaming as I fed my gourmet pet and wondered if they really DID like that food, this lead to the thought of food allergies and it just snowballed from there.

It would probably be a cash shop perk you could buy for your pet, but if you bought the 'Particular' aspect for your pet, it could have a checklist of preferences, or an option for random that would assign favorite food type, food allergy, favorite color, blood type and hobby. Okay, sure, this is something you can just have listed on their custom profile, I know...but if you had Bought the preferences there would be a bonus/drawback to your pet having these things.

Favorite food could give them 2 feeds worth of full, for example or a bump in health. Favorite hobby (reading) would give them a random bump to the intelligence boost they get, while hobby (fighting) could give them chance at bonus xp for winning a combat while hobby (toys) would give them extra feels of happy for using a toy.

Of course, if they ate something they were allergic to, they would get a drop in happy and probably lose a little health for a while.

It seems a fun way to add a little extra personality to a pet, that would be for more than just RP purposes. Whatcha think?

This sort of thing has come up before and I've found that people usually disagree with it. I pretend my gourmand is allergic to peanuts so I just take it upon myself to not feed him any, and roleplay it appropriately if I do it by accident.

Most people feed their pets for the gourmand achievement and having a food that fills them twice as much would seem the opposite of beneficial.

Favourite color, blood type and hobby seems pointless and excess. You can just write that information on their profile yeah. Most people just give their pets minions for endless happiness and stick them in the resort for fullness.

Personally, I'm trying to feed my gourmand all I can and even with the benefit of Maleria's Clawed Glove to sometimes make him hungry again, it's tedious. If he gained extra fullness from a food that'd make it even worse on me to get the achievement(s). My own gourmand, in my mind, is allergic to strawberries and I have, unfortunately, fed him a few strawberry things and I do regret having done it, but that's just how it is. I'm actually glad that apart from feeling foolish for doing it, that there wasn't a negative effect placed upon him.

As for everything else, while cute ideas, I don't see anyone going for them. I've seen food allergies brought up every now and then and from what I've seen very few have ever been for it. Even outside of RP, you can just as easily type it all out on their page. It is a nice idea in theory, but it just doesn't seem to be needed.

I agree that these are really cool ideas, and I would love to see stuff like this explored/expanded upon in the future - just general ways to customize or interact with our pets more on the site itself, rather than through custom coding or stuff we do ourselves through the collections and features. However, I think this is something that should probably be well-researched and placed faaaar down the list of things to work on.

I think this is neat in theory, but in practice we'd likely just get a bunch of the same personalities for the pets. A battler is always going to want to get the personality type that gains them extra xp. The toy perk seems like it would be "wasted" as I don't really know of anyone who actively plays with their pets. Having a minion attached makes them constantly happy so most people can't play with their pet anyway. It's already been mentioned how having a pet that likes food gain two points would be a deterrent for gourmand strivers.

To avoid the same personality types always being created it could be random, but that takes the fun out of giving your pet official personalities and most people would probably just go the unofficial route of just posting the info on the pet page rather than chance ruining a pet.
