Genetech seems to be getting a lot of love lately and I would love to see an achievement for being the first to find the combination. It should have tiers though. Maybe 1 5 10 There are those who work hard on finding the combos and I think it would get more people interested in working on them.

I disagree. I would never be able to figure them out on my own and I'm really thankful other users are willing to share. I feel like people would be more greedy with the achievement and it would cause issues.

The last thing we need is that. Remember Patient Zero and how many people bitched about that?

I don't support this. The first person to find a combination already has the benefit of being able to buy up all the cheap components. And anyway, finding combos is usually more of a group effort anyway, so it doesn't make sense to only reward the first person to make the actual combo, when they were just building on the failed attempts of dozens of other people.

I agree with - while I don't post I tend to watch the thread while silently trying out my own failed combos. It's unfair to reward one person when so many people worked together to work it out and give each other ideas.

I hate achievements that only one user or even a small handful can obtain. It's not about working hard, its about being lucky really. I really hope this never becomes an achievement, especially with tiers.

There's already an implicit reward for being first because you can corner the market if you want (and people usually do).

There's also a good chance that this achievement would encourage people to keep quiet about their failed attempts so they don't help anyone else, which would kill off the community spirit. I love watching people work together on the Genetech board. :(

I agree with everyone else. I really hate competitive achievements like this. People working together to find the combos is much better.

If you had to have an achievement, maybe one for making a combo the day it's released? I still wouldn't be overly fond of that, but it would be less divisive while still rewarding the first people to figure it out.

Please no. There are already a bunch of achievements like this that reward people for basically being in the right place at the right time (Saheric plot, anyone?). This gives off that same sort of vibe.

No thanks, I remember during the Blake Steele plot there were achievements for being "amongst the first 100/150" and it just sort-of ruined the achievement aspect for me during it. Looking over it now, there were 10 achievements like that. I really don't support anything where it's a certain number of people or just 1. Now the "Be the richest user," that is the only one I find to be on a whole 'nother level. You can keep making sP and keep trying to obtain that, but achievements where it's basically one and done well, they just make me not even want to try.

Oh please no, I don't support this at all.
Most of the time finding a combo is a group effort, which means that one person will get that achievement, while most of group of people that tried to come up with the right combination of items won't be getting the achievement for it.

Ok. I see all your points. I just thought it might stir more interest in working on the combos, because it's fun. I've only ever figured out 2 myself, but there are those who are pretty good at it and I thought it would be nice for them.
