I've been doing tarot readings for a few months but my new boyfriend has far more experience and is teaching me. Does anyone have any advice that they'd like to share or little rituals they go through?

Don't take it too seriously, but if you do, don't forget to ground and shield.

when you read the tarot, make sure you have a clear head and are not overwhelmed with emotions. the cards are very tricky in showing what YOU feel and what is going on with YOU, YOUR wishes and so on. this is why many readings are not accurate. and it does not matter that you read a tarot or an oracle deck. However, i find the oracle deck to pin-point everything related to you much more than the tarot deck u.u yes, shielding is needed too, even if you're reading the cards for fun.

What do you mean by shielding?

protecting yourself with an energy shield.

i'm sure you must have seen energy shields in cartoons, anime, and even some movies [like the last Twilight movie]

Before you read the tarot, stay still for some 5 minutes, eyes closed, clear your mind, and imagine a ball of light growing out of you. that's a shield, and the action is called shielding in this case.

Ah okay
