I was just wonder when pricing an item which one is the best one to use when pricing an item? The Price today or the Overall price if it has an Overall price? I'm asking cause I was getting ready to put an item in my shop and the Overall price of the item is cheaper than the Price today.

depends on the items. Some new Achievements have just come out, and they require items that weren't otherwise all that interesting. If your item(s) are one of those then the recent price should be your model.

There was a short burst of sP swapping that spread quite a bit of sP around so prices went up quite recently, but then Alegarten is a pretty effective sP sink so it would be wise to expect the selling-price for an item to drop for a few weeks until Morostide/questers can replenish their sP.

checking the shop search is usually the best way to figure out something's selling for.

I don't agree with that. Shop Search only tells you what people are asking for. They won't necessarily get this price unless the item is in rather high demand. Autopricing sellers don't actually care if the price-in-shops is a genuine selling price they are using this service at convenience. Autopricing only matches what prices were there before. So you can see a long chain of identically priced totally non-selling items with Shop Search.

I'd say the shop search is the best judge of value for an item at the time of assigning a price to it. Item prices can fluctuate pretty wildly; no item has a "correct" price. People still buy items that are perhaps generally prices higher that they might normally be for quests and item hunt etc. If that's the price the current subeta economy has determined, then so be it. I price everything off the shop search, and I've done pretty well with it.

I have to agree with Shop Search. It'll give you a better idea of what the items are priced at, and you can always knock some off the price if you feel it's too much or the item won't move.

The Price Today is more reflective than the Overall Price, but at the same time, you have people who price expensive items cheaply because they don't know what they're worth, or they want to be nice and give people the chance to buy something at a lower price. I caught four pairs of Argo Blackout Wedges at 50 Subeta Points a long time ago, and that put the average for the day at 50.

I price expensive items more cheaply because otherwise they don't sell. YMMV. Nothing so dramatic as the 50sP thing though.
