so when I am asked this in the shops I am wondering if there is a way to work out what is the least the shop is likely to accept?
Is there a percentage or something or is it random? At the moment when I am buying an item at about 2225 sp I will offer 2000 but I really dont know without going back and forth reoffering over and over if I am wasting sp offering more than I need to.
It might not be much each time but I hope I will be using the site for a long time so I could do with finding out if there is a quick formula to work out what will be acceptable as an offer. thanks
Without a coupon they'll give a 15% discount - you can buy a 20% on the Cash Shop or a 30% on the Millionaire Center (not very recommended as it's pretty expensive)
thanks that makes it a lot easier, :) I was hoping that there was an exact percentage.
I just need to be able to work out 15% each time ..I suppose I will get used to it pretty fast.
Interesting that you can get the extra savings if you pay for it, Im quite happy to tiddle along on the 15 percent for the moment.
I keep my calculator up all the time and just quickly multiply by .85 and round up. Even if the number is 2004.1, it will complain if you offer 2004, but accepts 2005.

I had a look online and found a percentage off calculator because my maths is pretty bad.
I can just keep it on a tab and put in the asking figure and it immediately gives me the figure to offer so its very fast.
I googled percent off calculator to find it, dont know if that would be better for you too.
That sounds helpful, because I'm bad at basic math too, but I'm used to my system and very fast with it :).

I'm bad at math so I just use my system calculator to subtract 15 with a percent symbol, then mentally add 1. It helps when getting stuff from All That Glitters.

anything worth restocking is worth restocking for someone else too, so I find it's better to be fast than accurate. If you're living on such a small coughneopetsrestockingsuckscough profit margin that the difference between 10% (which is easier to calculate in your head) and 15% (sometimes harder) then you should use your time to find something else to restock. This is do-able here.
The discount cards don't work like said. Maybe they're thinking of Neopets too, where if you do get a discount from a bead, your bargaining is ruined and vice versa? But here that is not so. Offer your 10-15% less, and if you have the discount card in your Inventory (locked or not) it then automatically discounts it by the card amount from what you just offered. So with my 30% card my total discount is 42%.
I bought my 30%er for a lark to be able to say "I've got one and you don't". It took me six years to earn that back, so I wouldn't buy one if your interest is just financial.
With most items, they fall between 2-3k. I just subtract 200ish if it's over 2k and 300ish if it's over 3k. So if they're asking 2246 for an item I offer 2000. I do have a discount card but that's removed from the price of your offer. So on an offer of 2000 it would end up costing me 1600. I'm just too damn lazy to sit and figure out percents.
